I would just like to let everyone know that yes, their is gay ships in here, and no, I don't ship my OC, Nicolette, with anyone in Percy Jackson. But, she is the Aunt of one of the characters whose past isn't explained in Heroes of Olympus. The picture I used for this chapter is not my OC, but it looks quite similar. And I will be writing a story about Nicolette's past, since I will not go into much detail in this fanfiction. Also, this is on Quotev under my other username, Ni-Senpai. I do not own anything expect my OC's.
Crocus, Fiore. The afternoon of January 12.
Damn. Nicolette groaned loudly and sat back in her chair. She felt real stupid while she tried to re-create the famous portal spell her sister had made all those years ago. She sighed. Nicolette looked up at the ceiling in her room. Even though her and her sister, Lucia were the same age, Lucia always surpassed her in almost everything. Almost everything. Nicolette surpassed Lucia in strength, or to be more specific, in magic power. Nicolette looked back down at her notes she made. She wasn't making much progress. If anyone else saw her notes on the spell, they would probably think she was drawing a few chicken scratches. Her sister was too smart for her own good. And she couldn't ask Lucia because she was dead. Nicolette leaned over and put her elbows on the desk she was working on. She groaned again. She missed her sister so much, and it was her fault Lucia was gone anyway. It's not my fault I was more powerful than she was. I was more fit to rule in the first place, Nicolette thought. With the death of her sister, she didn't have much free time. After all, she was a princess and soon to be queen of Fiore. Well no, not really. She would more be an ambassador for overseeing all of the magic and protection of the people in Fiore. But Nicolette liked to think of herself as a princess. Having a twin sister to rule by your side gave you a sense of comfort and a feeling of sisterly bond. Why are you complaining? Nicolette thought to herself. You killed your dear sister in the first place! She hunched over her desk and sobbed, getting warm tears on the old piece of parchment. After her sister had gone mad, she was forced to kill her and take Lucia's place as a monarch. Nicolette felt so alone in the big castle. Even with her friends by her side, she still never bonded with anyone the way her and her sister did. Stop chiding yourself, you're going to get distracted. You need to finish the spell as soon as possible, Nicolette reminded herself. Her thoughts were interrupted when the doors to her study opened quickly. One of Nicolette's maids, Melody, came rushing through the big metal doors and looked around the room. When Melody's eyes landed on Nicolette, she calmed herself. Nicolette stood up out of her chair and looked at her maid with alarm. Maids were not supposed to enter during study hours, unless their was an emergency. "What is the matter?" Nicolette asked Melody quickly.
"Another attack has taken place, mistress," said Melody, her hair in a tangle and her voice low.
"Where? And was it the unknown forces?" Nicolette asked with urgency. The unknown forces were, well, a group of unknown things that attacked at random points, causing a mass panic. Many buildings, homes and lives were lost from the attacks. The only reason Nicolette was working on the portal spell was so she could get quick access to a group a brave warriors, preferably demigods, like herself and her friends. Sure, there were many wizards and brave fighters in Fiore, but Nicolette knew that a demigod had to stop it. She could feel it. She just knew. But, while stumbling across the demigods, would she meet him? Nicolette grumbled a quick, "Give me a minute." Melody nodded and bowed, quickly leaving the study crowded with shelves of books, spells, and various spell books. Nicolette jogged over to her medium side make-shift bed she had in the castle's big study for when she needed a nap after working. She grabbed her brown leather bag of the soft bed and sifted through it, looking for a couple drachma (Greek Coins). Suddenly, the air in front of her warped and a face showed up through the thick mist that appeared. An Iris-message. Nicolette was used to Iris-messages appearing out of nowhere by now. "Where are you?" a hard voice asked her firmly. "We need some help out at the guild!" the voice yelled. "I am on my way over. Don't get your panties in a bunch, Serena." Nicolette deadpanned. The tall, coca colored skinned girl huffed, flipping her hair over her shoulder. "Well, someone has to help Legacy! You are it's founder after all, and bunch of half-bloods are already wounded from ghost attacks earlier this week." a British voice said behind Serena. Serena nodded. "Indeed," Serena said, motioning towards the Brit behind her. She spoke. "A couple of our members are wounded and the more I keep on casting healing spells, the more I won't be able to help." The British Strawberry-Blonde solid script mage looked very bad. Her white and purple dress was torn in numerous places, she had multiple cuts on her face and neck, and worst of all, Nicolette could tell Alexis was running out of magic power. Her face was pale and her eyes drooped. Serena looked in great shape, not a single scratch on her. Nicolette internally rolled her eyes. Serena was always a cocky, vain princess, but after she became Queen of the Changelings after her mother, Former Queen Chrysalis, passed away during the first war, Serena decided that her subjects do all her dirty work. Sure, she was still Nicolette's best friend, but sometimes Serena annoyed her to death. "Well, if you talk anymore, the battle with be over before I even get there!" Nicolette yelled, rubbing her temples. Too much. Too much stress, work, and liability. Liability that she wouldn't save her kingdom in time. "Be there soon. Goodbye." Nicolette waved her hand through the mist, and the message was gone. Nicolette was freaking out. Another attack on Legacy? But why? Why are the Unknown Forces targeting demigods? Nicolette questioned herself in her head, her thoughts racing. She breathed in and out slowly. "I need to get out there. I need to help my friends and my guild." she thought aloud. Nicolette was the founder of Legacy, the guild for demigods that needed work, money, friends, or even, a home. Nicolette loved seeing new half-bloods join her guild. She loved the look of happiness that they got after they realized their were people like them; same problems, hopes, and dreams. Nicolette's shoulder slumped and she sighed. She threw her bag over her shoulder and walked over to her desk, grabbing some white ribbon and tying her long, wavy brown hair in a ponytail. I have to be ready, Nicolette reassured herself. Her eyes drifted to the spell. She looked at the pen next to it, and decided to make one last note. She quickly sat in her chair, and leaned forward. She wrote quickly, reminding herself that she needed to get down to the guild as quickly as possible. After five minutes, she was done. She stood up out of her chair and admired her work. She thought for a second, and decided to read it out loud. She just wanted to make sure her work was good enough. She took a deep breath and read.

(Translation Greek to English: Now the hour has come to pass, the soft and fading light; has crossed the west horizon and has bidden us a farewell. As the lovely day crosses into the unforgiving night, I walk a midnight feel. I see the softer hues that are by magic now shown. As fate is cruel, and order unkind, I sit by the blue water that it the ocean and pray for your return. The return of harmony between the moon and sun, the darkness and the light. Myself and you.)
Nicolette looked up and smiled. She was doing quite well and it looked like she was almost done. Out of nowhere, she heard a faint hiss noise behind her. She assumed it was another Iris-message, so she turned to face the speaker. Instead, she was faced with a dark, black hole that was rippling in the center of her room. "What the ..." she whispered. "Did the spell... Actually work?!" she asked herself, gaping. She walked around the swirling mass of darkness and gasped. "It worked!!" Nicolette screamed, jumping up and down. She held her breath and thought, What if I just tested it out? Just to make sure it works. Nicolette let go of her breath and faced the front part of the portal. She looked down at her feet. "For the good of my kingdom." she reminded herself. She looked up. Slowly, she walked through the portal, unknown as where it would take her.
