-Danny POV-
I woke up with the sun streaming in through the windows. I was confused because I normally close them at night but then I remembered last night. A smile immediately came to my face when I thought back on it. I looked down and noticed Jessie sprawled on top of me with her face pressed into my bare chest. The sun was hitting her face perfectly and she looked so beautiful. Jessie was snoring lightly and showed no signs of waking up so I decided to go ahead and get up. I moved myself carefully from under her and after making sure she didn't wake up I headed to the bathroom to have a shower.
About 20 minutes later I walked back into the room to find Jessie still asleep. She was now curled into a ball, clutching a pillow to her chest. She looked so cute. I quickly snapped a picture of her and made my way downstairs to make breakfast. I made a stack of pancakes and some bacon for us to share. I decided to be cheesy and made a small heart shape on top of the pancakes with whipped cream. But why stop there? I added Jessie's tea to the tray and took a flower out of the centerpiece on the table. I layed it at the top of the tray. After I was satisfied with my work I took everything upstairs.
I walked into the bedroom and noticed Jessie was now sitting up in bed and dressed. Her hair was damp so she must have went ahead and had a shower. She smiled as soon as she saw me enter with food.
"Well aren't you the little chef today." I set the tray down on the bed next to her and sat at her feet.
"Well you know I couldn't let my baby girl go hungry now could I?" She laughed as she saw how I'd decorated the food.
"You're so cute, Dan." I moved to give Jessie a kiss on the cheek but she moved her face last second catching my lips in hers for a few moments.
"You'd better eat, Jess. You're gonna waste away to nothing." She rolled her eyes at me but started eating. We spent the morning just being silly and feeding each other bits of pancake. Then Jessie decided to be hilarious. As she fed me a piece of pancake, she missed and got whipped cream all over my face.
"Whoops." She couldn't stop laughing. I, on the other hand, took my revenge. I put the food on the bedside table and immediately jumped on top of Jessie, pinning her to the bed. She was still laughing as I rubbed my face against hers, getting whipped cream all over her face as well. We were both in hysterics by this point. I rolled off of her and lay facing her while she turned to face me, still laughing. She planted kisses all over my face until she got all the whipped cream off and I did the same for her. Jessie started running her fingers through my hair while I traced patterns on her waist.
"I love you, Dan."
"I love you too, Jess." We lie in silence for a while until the house phone rings. Odd...no one ever calls that phone unless...Shit. I jumped up but Jessie has already skipped down the stairs to the kitchen to answer it. I made it to the living just as I heard her answer it.
"Hello?"
"This is Jessie."
"Yeah he's right here one second." I sunk down onto the couch and waited.
"Danny's it's your mum." Yeah...I know.
"Hello?"
"Daniel, put me on speaker." Her voice was low and threatening. Oh no. Jessie came over and sat on my lap wrapping both arms around my neck and resting her head on her shoulder.
"Okay mum.."
"Is Jessie there?" Jessie spoke up.
"Yes, I'm here, Mrs. O'Donoghue." Oh god, oh god, oh god.
"So Jessie. I assume you're seeing my son?"
"Yes I am." Jessie's reply was confident. I was impressed.
"I see. . .and how long have you and Daniel been seeing each other?"
"Ummm, about a month now?" I heard my mum gasp over the phone.
"Daniel, you've had a girlfriend for a month and you haven't thought to tell me?" Oh god. She's mad.
"Sorry mum. I've just had a lot going on." Her voice softened a bit.
"Well I hope you and Jessie aren't too busy to come visit me soon then?" I looked at Jessie and she smiled before speaking up.
"Of course we will, Mrs. O'Donoghue."
"Oh honey call me mum." At this point Jessie's smile was practically eating her face.
"Okay mum.." I squeezed Jessie slightly and took my mum off speaker. She started lecturing me on how we weren't supposed to be keeping secrets and how I needed to call her more often and everything else of that sort.
"Mum, I promise I'll sort out a flight in the next few weeks and we'll come to visit."
"All right, Daniel. I love you and I'll see you soon. And tell Jessie good-bye for me."
"I will mum. Love you too. Bye." I hung up the phone and no sooner than I put it down Jessie let out a squeal.
"Your mum likes me, Danny!" She pulled me into another hug and I couldn't help but laugh at her enthusiasm. I kissed the top of her head.
"It seems she does." Jessie suddenly jumped up from my lap.
"Well come on Danny! Let's book our flight!" I laughed at her as she practically bounced to the kitchen to get her laptop.
I sat at the stool by the island while Jessie sat on my lap typing away on the laptop. After a few minutes we had our flight booked for two weeks from today and we would stay for three days before flying back. Jessie turned around so that her legs were wrapped around my waist.
"I'm so excited to see where you grew up, babe."
"Well I can't wait to show you, beautiful." I cupped her face in both my hands and kissed her. She wasted no time in heating up the kiss and before I knew it I was carrying her back to the bedroom.
