Sacrifice

"You know that you're not being very helpful right now." Melantha told me.

"Well sorry, but maybe that's MY JOB." I said, annoyed.

She made her way down to her locker, "So can anyone else see you?"

"Nope, you'll look a bit more crazy that way." I said, closing her locker right when she opened it so it jammed her finger.

"What was that for?!?" She shrieked. Everyone in the hallway turned to look at her. Eyes wide she apologized, opened her locker once more, grabbed her stuff, and ran off to class.

But... It's not like her torture will end there...

It's that boy again. The one in the bright blue jersey. What's his name again? 

"Hey Gary," Melantha blushed as she down next to the boy, "Did you finish the homework?"

"Actually I didn't..." he said, shifting closer to her, "If I fail, I'll be kicked off the team..."

Why is she so stupid? Never ever give up your homework for some guy! That's not even cool in my book.

"Y-you can use mine if you want..." she whispered.

A smile crept onto Gary's face, "Thank you so much!"

Melantha dug through her binder, grabbed the homework, scribbled out her name and wrote Gary's. Then, she proceeded to give him the paper.

He snatched the paper, turning it into the teacher just as she passed to collect the homework.

Soon enough he proceeded to make Melantha's life worse. Is he a demon too or something? 'Cause he's stealing my job right now. I need that money!

"Hey Gary." A blond entered the room, sat down on the other side of Gary, and gave him a kiss.

"Hey babe, how's it goin?" He said, giving her a smile.

Of course Melantha had to see. I almost felt bad. The tears weren't coming now, but they'd be making a lake after school, or even after this class. I'd watched her for long enough.

I can't let this guy hurt her, that's my job! I'm the one who's supposed to embarrass her! That's it. Tomorrow, I'm enrolling.
