“Crystal!” Alois screamed as he ran throughout the manor, looking for his maid. He bumped into Claude who stared back down at him with the same facial expression.

“Are you looking for Crystal?” Claude asks. Alois nods his head vigorously, adding, “I need her opinion on my costume for tonight’s ball!”

“She’s has a chore to do downstairs. I’ll let her know that you were searching for her after she’s done. For now, I need to speak to you about something upstairs in your office.”

“But Claude!” Alois whined. He pouted, but as always, got nothing out of the expressionless demon. “Fine,” he huffed as he stomped upstairs with Claude following behind.

Mean whilst, Crystal was down in the basement again, taking care of another “guest”. This time, it was a noble who wanted to take over the title of being the Queen’s spider.

“You make me wheeze from laughing. It’s quite hilarious to my ears hearing the words just come out from your filthy mouth.” Crystal placed her index finger on the noble, Wendy, causing an obvious shudder come from the elder’s body.

“Have mercy child!” Wendy screamed. Crystal rolled her eyes and slowly swung the chains back and forth. “There is no reason for me to give you mercy. No matter who you are, lay a threatening finger on the people I love, I will give you hell,” Crystal hisses.

“A-and what d-do you know ab-about hell?” she stutters with a soft whimper.

“Everything,” Crystal smirks as she swung the chain, making Wendy’s body go up to the ceiling. Crystal sighed, walking out of the basement to see the triplets waiting patiently on the other side of the room.

“Thanks for cleaning up after the mess guys. It certainly means a lot.” She smiles softly and goes back upstairs to see Hannah was waiting. It seemed as if everyone was waiting for her that day, which was abnormal in the Trancy manor.

“Master and Claude are looking for you, Crystal. They’re in Master’s office. Don’t keep them waiting.” Hannah bowed down her head and walked away to the kitchen where she took care of refreshments for tonight’s ball.

Hurriedly, Crystal went up the stairs and was finally standing behind the door of Alois’ office. Catching her breath, she knocked on the door. “Come in!” she heard Alois say. Turning the golden knob, she saw Alois sitting behind his desk with Claude by his side.

“I was told that I am needed here?” Crystal asks, only having her head peeked in through the gap of the door. Alois nodded, saying, “Come inside, I have to talk to you.”

Crystal approached the velvet red seats and sat down on one of them, listening intently on what Alois was saying.

“Claude was telling me something about the Queen’s rule about having young children as your servant being illegal and all. So, we devised a plan for tonight. You’ll be my betroth. We’ll buy an exceptional dress for you to wear for tonight and let the other four work on serving the guests.

“Of course, you’ll have to match with me, but that shouldn’t be the main problem. The only problem we have is that you might seem like you’re my servant. Number one rule for tonight; don’t act like you have to listen to everything I say. Probably. And you must act lady like. I wouldn’t like to have you to have a bad reputation just from the ball alone.

“Oh, and you have to entertain my guests whilst I’m gone. Just for the moment though. It won’t be long, hopefully. But I’m sure that you would entertain the guests, especially our very special one!”

Crystal’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion. “Who’s the special guest?”

“The Queen! Anymore irrelevant and useless questions?”
