Rose
I stood in front of my house, running a hand through my hair anxiously. Where was he? The gig was in twenty minutes, fifteen now.
"Rose! Hey, I'm here!" My head snapped up when I heard Will's voice. He drove up in a black mustang. It looked like a hand me down.
"Finally! I thought you weren't going to show up!" I said, smiling. I climbed into his car and laughed as he turned down the radio.
"I wouldn't do that to you." The minute he said it, he looked regretful. Had he not wanted to say that?
"Well, that's nice to know." The car went into an awkward silence. He finally broke the silence with a strange question.
"Do you have a license? If you don't I can be like your personal chauffeur." I waved him off, pulling out my camera.
"I'm taking the drivers test again soon. It's all right. Thanks for driving me today though." I replied, smiling sweetly at him. He turned away quickly, his grip tightening on the wheel. Did I say something wrong? Is this the same thing that happened when I was on the phone with him earlier?
"It really isn't a problem. So. . .do you have any siblings?" he asked. It was kind of a personal question, but I smiled and answered anyway.
"Yeah a twerp little brother. He's devious." Will laughed, relaxing a little.
"What about you? Do you have any irritating siblings?" He shook his head as the car slowed to a stop.
"No. Wish I did though. My life can get pretty sad. I get lonely a lot. I'd love to have a little kid running around or following me everywhere." He said, looking out the window.
"Trust me, you don't." I tried to lighten the mood, but Will seemed to still be sad. I turned to look out my window and smiled. My gig was just through those doors.
"Let's go?" I proposed. Will nodded and we both got out. I slipped my camera back into my bag, then followed Will up the stone steps and into the building.
