The eyes of Carter, the guy from the diner. I couldn't forget him, to be honest.
Damn. He looked good.
He was dressed in a royal blue lacoste polo, and some tan cargo shorts. The blue shirt really complimented his eyes, and his body. It fit him in all the right places. His black hair was messy and damp, which I'm guessing it's from the shower he just took. I couldn't help but think: I wonder how he looks without clothes, and inside my polka-dotted sheets.
"Hey, Carter is it? May I help you?" I asked him trying to play it cool. Which, of course didn't work for me, as always.
"Hello Avery, and yes you may, I'm here for dinner" he said, politely may I add.
"Oh I didn't know, uhm come on in" I said as I opened the door for him to come inside. I started to guide him to the living room where everyone was.
"May I introduce myself properly?" Carter questioned me. His voice is beautiful. I'm a sucker for charm, and a sexy voice.
"Uhm, yeah, sure" I said way to quickly.
"Im Carter, and you look lovely by the way" he told me, charming my butt off.
"Thank you, you don't look so bad yourself!" I politely complimented him back. But what I wanted to say wasn't appropriate. What can I say? I have a dirty mind. I thought as we walked into the dining room.
"Oh my gosh! Carter! You are so handsome! I know you don't remember me so, I'm Monae, this is my husband Paul, my daughter Meredith, my son Jake, my other son Lucas, and I figure Avery probably already introduced herself. Please sit" my mom said as she got up and gave him a big hug, then gestured to each one of us.
I sat back down in my seat. I forgot where the only empty seat was, beside me. Of course.
But secretly I'm happy about that. I thought as he quietly sat down beside me.
"I'm so surprised you three don't remember each other, ya'll were inseparable when ya'll were younger. Ya'll were the cutest." Lolita gushed, talking to me, Violet and Carter. While I still don't remember anything. I need to remember to look through old photo albums.
"Same here Leeta. How about after dinner lets let the teenagers hangout at the house and babysit Iszabella while us parents go out" My mom told Lolita.
"That's Fine with me, we need to catch up, and we haven't had a double date in years." Lolita gushed, being all giddy.

Dinner was great. My mom, Lolita, Dad, and Walter headed out about five minutes ago.
"I'll help you with the dishes" Violet informed me.
"Okay sure" She dried while I washed. My mom preferred the dishes to be hand washed instead of in the dishwasher, for some reason. I think she just likes to watch us work, or something.
"So, tell me about yourself Violet" I said.
"Lets see, I'm fifteen, I like music, boys, to have fun, I'm Latin, Greek, and American, I like to shop, read, I play volleyball, I love traveling, and I'm going to your school in the fall, what about you?" she questioned me.
"Uhm, I'm also fifteen, I like music, reading, television, food, my mom is African-American,and my dad is half-Swedish, but he's American, and I would say I also have some Native-American in me, but so does like everyone in the US, so it doesn't really count," I trailed off, while she laughed.
"Do you listen to Lana Del Rey, by any chance?" Violet questioned me.
"Hell yes! She is like one of my idols, I love her, and her music. I love that she isn't as "mainstream" as some other artists, she's a definite original, for sure. It's like she was born in a different decade or something" I explained happily. I am a fangirl for life.
