Annabeth's POV
I was sitting by Sophia's bedside, reading a book when Percy came and said " Annabeth, we're playing capture the flag. Chiron and Mr. D have requested for you presence.". " But Percy, how can I leave?", I whine. Percy pulls me in for a hug " We have to try.", he whispered.
We were just about to walk out of the infirmary when we heard a single 'beep' sound. Then again until all the machines around Sophia started to beep like crazy. Stunned, we turned around as Sophia opened her eyes. Percy and I rushed to her when she started to cough." Soph? Sophia, are you okay?", I asked slowly while bringing her into sitting position. " I'm good. Never- ugh- better.", she groaned and leaned back on the bed.
I saw my brother, Malcom, checking the infirmary. " Malcom, help me get Chiron.". " Where have been for this long?", Percy aked her. She looked confused," What do mean 'this long'? I was only gone for a few days!", she protested.
Percy's POV
I asked Sophia slowly, not wanting to freak her out," Soph, what month is it?".
She looked offended," Well obviously it's January since I came here, maybe three days ago when Kronos- ". Annabeth was getting really palw so she cut Sophia off," Stop!! Sophia, it's no longer January. Tommorow 's March 1". Her face face turns from offended to pure shock. " I've been out for two months?", she asks.
All we can manage is a nod.
Sophia's POV
Oh my gods!! Two months!! How in the world did time move so quickly? Annabeth was still shaky," Soph, what happened?".
I told them about the white haven and my collect Iris-message. I also tokd them about my meeting with Poseidon and finding Hades in the Underworld. I nearly started crying when I recountes my final moments with my family in the Elysium. Percy came back at a point where he asked " So you actually met da- Poseidon?". I nodded. " Yeah , and he said my ally all this while will be a threat. It's just like the Oracle said. I am the lost soul.
Then there is silence.
Annabeth's POV
She smiles at Percy and I as she stood up " Thanks for taking care of me. I really appreciate it. But I can take care of myself now.". Sophia wobbles towatds the exit.
Right now, I am practically fuming. Sophia is an amazibg person and doesn't deserve this life. " Oh, Percy. I'm worried she might so something stupid", I say. When she's out there, no one can protect her.
"Don't worry", Percy smiles. He whistled and a humongous hellhound arriving at his feet, barking happily. " Hey, Mrs. O' Leary! Watch Sophia, okay?", and he pointed to her figure.
Mrs. O' Leary growled and crept after Sophia until they both two blurs walking into the darkness.
