Chapter Five: "Passenger Seat"

"I can't believe they made you come with me." I sighed. "And they promoted you to 'bodyguard'. Who does that?! They don't even give two flying f-"

"Ana my love. Say no more." he said and put a finger to my lips to shush me. He looked at me with seductive eyes and gave me a small angelic smile. "Because we're going to Moscow!" he said and pumped his fist in the air. We were both in the back seat of the range rover and was heading straight to the airport. We just got stuck in the New York traffic jam. It's bad. Trust me. Alex is the cherry on top of the ice cream sundae.

"You just made my day." I said sarcastically and faked a grin.

"Honey you just made my whole life. I love you." he said and attempted to hug me but I pushed him away violently.

"What's taking so long?" I said, mostly to myself as I looked forward beyond the windshield. We were stuck. Everyone was. "That's it. We're walking." I declared and opened the door.

"Whoa whoa whoa!" said Alex, who grabbed my wrist to stop me. I froze then turned to look at him.

"What's the hold up?" I asked and raised my eyebrows at him. "We have to move. Like pronto. Kapeesh?" I said and made stupid hand gestures.

"I can't let you walk! It's going to tire you!" He said and pulled me back in.

"But uuuuggggh!!!" I slapped his hand off my wrist. "We." slap, "Have" slap, "To" slap, "Go!" slap.

"Okay!" He said and frowned. "You little brat." He added in a low whisper as he went out his side.

"I heard that!" I said and went out of the car on my side. I found him at the back of the car with my suitcase in his hand while the other slammed the trunk shut.

"After you princess." He smiled and made a pathway for me. He gestured for me to go through. I slammed my car door shut and forced a sarcastic smile at him. I passed him and walked on through traffic.

"This is why I don't go to New York often." He said behind me. We were both trying to make our way through cars and trying to find what the commotion was about. I turned to glance at him and raised an eyebrow.

"Wait..." I said and we both halted into a stop. "You've been here before? A few times already too huh? It's so far from home. Why?" I asked and resumed my walk.

"My crazy aunt Nora lives here?" he said, unsure. I turned to glance at him again. He smiled sheepishly but I ignored it and shook my head. What's wrong with him?

"Crazy..aunt...okay." I said. I dropped it. He was hopeless. "One last thing though..." I said and turned to face him. He stopped walking but he was so close, so close. I don't like it.

"You..have very...good Engli-" I managed to say but barely came out of my mouth. He shushed me again putting a finger to my lips.

"Can you feel that?" he asked in a low husky voice and smirked. I began to wonder and looked around. Oh hell yeah I can feel that. People were staring at us. Like a lot of people were. My eyes darted around and I felt myself getting even more nervous.

"What?" I asked looking a bit alarmed.

"Your heartbe--"

"Aw c'mon!" I blurted out and threw my hands up in the air. "In the middle of New York City?! Seriously?!" He roared out laughter.

"We're not technically 'in the middle'." He said as he tried to compose himself. I just shook my head and looked ahead. Trying to see what all the commotion was about. "Come on." I heard him say. He took a hold of my hand and pulled me to the sidewalk.
