Chapter One: "Roomie"
"Anastasia darling!" my mum came rushing in my room. It's been two days since graduation and she just arrived. I didn't know flights were delayed for that long.
"Hi." I greeted as she pulled me into a tight hug, burying my face into her chest. It didn't feel good, literally, she was still skinny hence the fact that she's no longer a model. She definitely wants to keep an image though. She's a business woman now, she does different fashion lines, mostly shoes and bags. Then sometimes she gets asked to appear in different events and benefits.
"Oh I'm so sorry my sweet. I'm here now. What do you want?" she pulled away and smiled sweetly at me. "Anything you want. Anything at all. You got it. A car? A new bag? How about a cute little dog?" she suggested excitedly. I faked a smile and turned her offers down. I honestly had no interest in a new bag, a dog sure but I'd go for a golden retriever or German Shepherd. I'm not sure if they'd want a big dog around. Car, hell yeah, but I'm already using one of theirs, so I don't need it. Plus, I have yet to pass my driver's test.
"I just want to get into a university soon." I said and shrugged, looking down at the floor. She grabbed my chin and lifted my face up to meet her gaze. Her eyebrows were furrowed, showing a bit of confusion and worry?
"Well how about Victoria and Claire? Ana honey, they need you here." I knew it.
"What? As their personal maid? Their nanny? Mum, all my life I've been hidden from everyone. My own life has been taken away from me just because I don't look a certain way." realizing that I had a sudden outburst I shut myself up and apologized. "I..I'm sorry. I have to pack my things now. The guests are coming, some are staying here and those are Victoria's potential suitors. I'm moving...to...the um, the other house. Sorry." I shook my head and went to my dresser, taking my clothes out and throwing them on the bed. I heard my mother sigh as she left the room, leaving me by myself to pack. I often doubted that Mr. and Mrs. Bellrose were actually my parents. They are, but I feel like my only family is Tobi and Claire. Minus one, Tobias went off to college a couple of years ago. He's Vic's twin.
I took my suitcase out from under the bed and shuffled around the room, picking up my stuff. I was too busy shoving things in the suitcase that I didn't notice someone had entered my room.
"Hey." I recognized the voice right away. I looked up and saw Vic's hot Spanish teacher.
"Hi..." I replied. Damn it. I'm too quiet.
"So.. what're you doing?" he asked, crossing his arms over his chest and leaning against the doorframe.
"Packing..." I answered while I shoved the last piece of my wardrobe inside the case before zipping it close.
"You have a very nice room for a PA...no offense." I looked up and smiled. God I must've looked terrible. He smiled back though.
"Oh this isn't my room. This is Anastasia's room. She's the--"
"Yeah I know who she is." he interrupted. I was a tad bit surprised.
"Oh really?" I raised an eyebrow at him and stood up.
"Sure." he said and shrugged nonchalantly.
"How? She's been gone since she was 10 and I think that she'd be 18 by now." I said.
"Yeah. Well um I just know that there's a third child in the Bellerose family and I know that her name's Anastasia. I read a lot of magazines before coming here I guess." he said and walked to my desk. Observing the things on it. "If this is Anastasia's room then why are your things in it?"
"I uh..." I paused for a while trying to think up of a valid reason. "Mrs. Bellerose wanted me to occupy it for a while. She doesn't want Ana's room to be dirty or anything. You know, just so someone would take care of it for a while." Nailed it.
