We hiked for hours in the Neutral. The Neutral was the place of savages, no Light peace, no Dark destruction, just humans and demons trying to survive on their own. These people would do anything to survive, and they would do whatever works best, even  killing. Not Soul Reaping, straight up murder.

I was ready to fight, carrying my Knife of Souls in front of me, Loki was holding his Knife of Souls, too. It was dark and i was nervous. We only came across two people, each of which recognized me and ran. I felt a burst of confidence as I saw them run. They knew I was dangerous.

We came across an animal. A deer, I think. Loki looked at it with sympathy, but I knew we would have to kill many of its brethren if we were to get out alive. We only had small rations, the water supply took up most of our storage. We were lucky that the Neutral was filled to the brim with squirrels, rabbits, and deer. We wouldn't starve, but having a fire here, with all the dangerous tribes, wasn't a good idea. I assumed we would mostly dry the meat, I brought salt. However, I brought salt for more than one reason.

I may have brought four pounds of salt. I knew how to keep demons out. Sage, salt, and a rosary. Though I wasn't Christian, I knew of Hell. And I knew that the name of God could protect me. I just didn't want to depend on a big man in the sky for everything.

"What are you thinking about, babe?" Loki said.

"Food, water... How to keep demons out. Night shifts. Just what we'll need on our journey." I said.

"Okay. I guess it's good to think about those things. We need a smart one here, don't we?" He laughed.

"Hey, you're the one with the field experience. I just have strategy. We make a good team." I smiled as he kissed me.

"Yes we do."
