Another day of school finished. Geez, I cant believe how Mr. Kryse told us to make three Vials in one hour, it's insane!
Those were the things I said to myself as I walked home. The Solarflare's rays hued the buildings and streets orange. I could see some kidds palying in the park, and some middle-aged women chatting the Raywise away. I contemplated how my life's kinda dull. Nothing new ever happens, and wasting my life away.
I was already halfway to my house. Igrew used to walking to school. I didn't have a choice earlier coz I was gonna be late. I remembered what my Mom and Dad said earlier that got me thinking...
"Hyralok..."
I heard them talking about it as I was dashing through the portal. I have no idea what it is or what it does for that matter.
"Yo, Alch!"
"Huh? Oh, hey Ansisca."
"Penny for you thoughts?"
"Oh it's nothing. Just family stuff..."
"Still not giving up your dream of having a sister huh?"
"Haha, well I'm trying."
SIsca's a very good friend of mine. Out of the millions of friends I have, I only trust her. We share a lot of common interests, and she tolerates my wild dreams.
"Say, Ansis, you know something called Hyralok?"
"I think so, why'd you ask?"
"Well...."
So I told her everything. I told her how recently my parents have been acting weird. They've been avoiding topics of relatives, siblings, even trips to other Communes. And now the Hyralok stuff. I could smell that they're hiding something big time.
"So, you think they're hiding something?"
"I don't know, but you gotta agree with me that thise actions are pretty peculiar, right?"
"Yeah, so, wanna look this up at the BookKeep tomorrow?"
"Sure."
"Kay. Hey, here's my house. See ya round!"
"Same to ya, bye!"
And with that, she scooted towards her home. Her house stand pretty high despite only having two floors. Her parents are all about the su[ernatural forces like Elvens, Dwarvens, Nymphs and the like. Their front yard was adorned with alluring and beautiful flowers, dressed with colors of pink, yellow, white, red, violet, and turquoise. Their porch was our favorite place. We would sit at the rails and practically talk about everything.
I continued my walk, and again thought about thins some more.
"NEVER LEAVE ME..."
My eyes widened. I heard a voice. No one was there. NO, it came from my mind. I heard it clearly. Who was that? And more importantly, how come I only heard it in my mind?
"Sweetie, welcome home! Hurry up and get inside."
I swiveled. I was already at home. My mom was at the door. She was smiling and gestured me to get inside. I gave her a big smile and a hug. They may be weird, but they're cool.
A lot of things have been happening lately. Things I couldn't explain. Refreshing as it is to think that my dull life is slowly turning vivid, I'm scared. Will I be ready for things to come?
"A PROMISE IS A PROMISE..."
