Friendzoned. (Luke Hemmings Love Story)

Chapter 5.

*Luke's P.O.V.*

Shit. Why did I say that? I shouldn't have said that. I should've made something else up. 

"You.. you love me?" Aly asked. She looked confused. I just ruined everything. It'll never not be awkward between us now. I lost her again. It was then I realized I hadn't answered her. "Hello? Earth to Luke." She waved her hand in front of my face.

"Nothing, never mind. It's just a dumb crush." I said, trying to fix what I said.

She rolled her eyes. "Luke you can't just tell me you love me then back away from it... Listen.. I can't say I love you too.." Ouch. "I mean.. I do love you, but not like that. At least for now... but I think I could. I don't know I guess I just never thought about it."

"It's not a big deal. Just forget I said anything."

"Dude shut up." She grabbed my face with one hand under my chin, squishing my cheeks a little, and turned it to face her. "I have an idea."

I held back my smile. God, she was so cute. "What's your idea?"

"Lucas Robert Hemmings, will you go on a date with me?"

I couldn't hold my smile back anymore. "I'd love to."

She smiled back. "Cool, pick me up Friday at 5." She kissed my nose then got up and walked to the door then turned around. "See you in the morning." She winked then walked out the door and went home. This can't be happening. She just asked me out on a date. What just happened?

I woke up the next morning in the best mood I had ever been in. I got ready and went upstair to get some breakfast. My mom and dad were both sitting at the table eating breakfast. "Morning Sweetie!" My mom said.

"Morning mom." I said and kissed her on the cheek as I walked passed her to get to the cabinet. 

"You're in a good mood." My dad pointed out. 

I smiled as I opened the cabinet. "Yeah, Aly-" I was cut off by a knock at the door. I immediately jogged to the door and opened it to see Aly. I smiled and hugged her. 

"That's why." I heard my dad say to my mom as he  took a sip of his coffee. 

I grabbed my book bag and waved to my parents. "Bye guys. Love you." I said as I walked out the door.

Aly and I got into my car. "So I was thinking.." She said after she closed the door. Oh god. She's cancelling the date. She doesn't like me like that. I'm so stupid. "There's a fair at our primary school on Friday. Wanna go?" 

Oh thank god. "Yeah that sounds good." I said as I pulled out of the drive way.

"Oh and one more thing. I'm really happy that were dating and all but if we start getting all gross and cheesy and coupley, we're gonna have a problem."

I chuckled a little. "Deal." We spent the rest of the car ride having small talk. 

*Aly's P.O.V.*

When we got to school, Luke walked me to my first class and eventually, about mid-day, we met up for lunch. I hadn't sat with him yet so I was a little nervous. The only one of his friends I had properly met was Calum and we got on well. I hope he like me. I hope all of his friends like me. I mean I don't wanna be one of those annoying girlfriends that all his friends hate. Wait-I mean I'm not his girlfriend but- um anyway..

I walked out of my fourth period and met walked towards Luke's locker. I walked up behind him and hugged him from behind, resting my chin on his shoulder. He looked over at me and smiled. "Hey you." 

"Hello." I cheesed then kissed his shoulder.

"No PDA in the halls please." A teacher scolded as they walked passed us. I chuckled and let go of him.

He turned around, "We're such badasses. Shoulder kissing in the hallway." He chuckled.

"It's practically a porno." I replied.

He shut his locker and held out his hand, I smiled and took his hand. "Ready?" He asked.

"Ready." And we walked to the cafeteria. He led me to the table that his friends were sitting at. 

"Hey guys, this is Aly." He introduced me. He pointed to a guy with blue hair. "That's Michael" Next to him was a guy with curly, light brown hair. "That's Ashton" And next to him was a gorgeous girl with long brown hair. "That's Taylor, Ashton's girlfriend. And you know Calum" I smiled and waved at them. I sat next to Taylor and Luke sat next to me.

"Finally another girl in our group."  Taylor smiled at me. I returned the smile. "We should hang out this weekend."

"Yes we definitely need to! I'm busy tomorrow, but Saturday?" I offered.

"Yeah that sounds awesome." She answered smiling.

Ashton butted in, "You were supposed to watch practice on Saturday." He pouted slightly.

"I still will babe, I'll go after. Aly can come. Right?"

"I'd love to." I smiled. 

I looked over at Luke, who was smiling at me. "Come on, let's go get food." I got up and followed him to the line. "I think they like you."

"I hope so." 

"I knew they would." He chuckled softly. "When do I get to meet your friends?"

I laughed sarcastically. "What friends? All my friends are Spencer's friends. I'd like to avoid him as much as possible. Plus I'm kinda over the 'popular girl' vibe. I wanna be a lame band kid like you."

"Hey, I am not lame." He defended himself.

"Whatever you say, baby boy." I winked and grabbed my food. 

He followed me back to the table. "Baby boy? I thought we weren't doing cheesy couple things."

I smirked to myself. "Nicknames are cute, though. I'll make an exception."

He passed me and whisper, "Whatever you say, princess." God damn, what is this kid doing to me?

We sat back down at the table and carried on conversations at the table. The five of them just sort of added me in and I fit in right away. I got a hell of a lot of dirty and weird looks from popular kids and just people that knew I was a popular kid, really. I didn't mind, though. I liked having the friends, but none of them were true friends. Plus, being the popular girl comes with the bitch stereotype. I had spent one day with Luke, Calum, Michael, Ashton, and Taylor and I was already way happier and comfortable with them than I had ever been with my old "friends".

"Hey Al, you got your date tomorrow, right?" Taylor asked.

I nodded."Yeah, why?"

"Can I come over before and help you get ready? It's been a long time sense I've some girl time."

"Yeah, I'd love that! I'll just bring you home after school." I smiled.

"Great! I'm so excited."

The bell was about to ring. I got everyone's phone numbers and we all walked our separate ways to class. Today was a success.
