Hunter's POV:

"I know it's a little soon mom. Yes but I've already gotten her mom's, brother's, and sister-in-law's permission," I say into the phone as I open and close the box nervously in my pocket. We're at Kendyl and Trevor's wedding. I've got a surprise in mind for Avery. But it's gonna wait. Here comes Aves. "Gotta go mom. Love you. I'll see you tonight."
We're in Breaux Bridge for the wedding. We met Amberley this morning. She's so sweet. She one of Kendyl's bridesmaids, along with some of her friends from Greenwood. I'm standing backstage with Trevor and some of the bridesmaids. Avery walks up as I turn my phone off.
"Hey we need to take the pictures now so y'all can dance and leave after the wedding." Avery tells Trevor.
"Okay yeah. Are you sure you and Hunter don't mind cleaning up after? We'd be happy to stay and hel-" Avery cuts him off.
"It's your wedding night. It's gonna be special for both of you for the rest of your lives. You need to go and have fun. Don't worry about us bro," Avery tells him.
"Yeah man. We've got this. Go have fun." I pull him to the side. "Hey I've got this idea about how I'm gonna do the thing tonight."
"What is it?" I quickly and quietly recite my plan to him.
"That sounds so romantic. I wish I would've thought of that when I did it. Oh well. Little too late now," Trevor laughs.
"Yeah," I say. "You ready to do this man?"
"Nope I'm nervous as crap. But I'm as ready as I'll ever be.  Let's do this.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
I see Avery on the other side of the church. I can tell she's tired. We got in Louisiana late last night (around 11:00 I think) and didn't get to my parents' place until 12:00. Ah well, we've just got a few more hours till her surprise. Her mom is in the crowd, running Avery's phone battery down, like we planned. Here comes Kenz. Avery did a good job of being a maid of honor. I'm happy for them. They deserve this. She walks up to the stage.
The priest starts talking. "In marriage we not only say, "I love you today", but also, "I promise to love you for all of our tomorrows."
Trevor and Kendyl, in the days ahead of you, there will be stormy times and good times, times of conflict and times of joy. I ask you to remember this advice:
Never go to bed angry.
Let your love be stronger than your anger.
Learn the wisdom of compromise, for it is better to bend than to break.
Believe the best of your beloved rather than the worst.
Confide in your partner and ask for help when you need it.
Remember that true friendship is the basis for any lasting relationship.
Give your spouse the same courtesies and kindnesses you bestow on your friends.
Say "I love you" every day.
Trevor and Kendyl, I remind you that marriage is a precious gift, a lifelong commitment, and a challenge to love one another more completely each and every day.
Please join hands and look into each other's eyes.
Trevor, with this understanding, do you take Kendyl Grace Brice to be your wedded wife to live together in marriage? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, forsaking all others and to be faithful only to her, so long as you both shall live?
Trevor: "I do."
Priest: "Kendyl, with this understanding, do you take Trevor Dakota Miller to be your wedded husband, to live together in marriage? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, forsaking all others and to be faithful only to him, so long as you both shall live?
Kendyl: "I do."
Priest: "May I have the rings please?" The ring bearer comes forward. Trevor takes a ring. "With this ring, I be wed," he says as he gently pushes the ring onto Kendyl's left ring finger.
Kendyl takes a ring. "With this ring, I be wed," she says, emotion-filled eyes.
The priest starts talking again. "Okay then. By the power invested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride!" Trevor and Kendyl lean in. The church doors creak open. A man with a white suit stumbles in, beer bottle in hand.
"Now I know I must've been invited," the man drunkenly says. I hear Avery, Trevor, and Amberley gasp.
"Excuse me sir but who are you and why are you at my best friend's wedding?" I say, stepping off the stage.
"Well son, if you must know, I'm their father." He takes another swig of beer.
