I ended the phone call with Hasina and Chelsea. Still in shock, I slowly headed to my window with my hands trembling. The neighborhood was in silence and I stood at the window taking a peek outside. I didn't want anybody to see me looking so I step away from the window. Hearing that sound made me remember. The day that I lost a friend.

***FLASHBACK***

I went outside to throw out the trash that my mom told me to do. While I walked towards the trashcan I heard a sound. BANG! Before I could question myself if it was a gunshot I hurried up and threw the trash away. Rushing into the house I saw my mom sitting down on the sofa.

After I locked the door behind me my momma started asking questions. "What's wrong with you?" I look at her crazy and said "I thought I heard a gunshot". "What, a gunshot? You sure it wasn't fireworks?" my mom asked. I had to think of the possibility but I soon realize it's summer and fourth of July passed already pass. "Just forget I said anything" I told her walking away. I went in my room and watch some TV. After the sun began to set, it started getting dark and I saw a flash of red and blue light coming from the window.

When I check my window I see lots of police car. I hurried up and put on my shoes to go outside. I notice my dad standing by a tree. Once he spotted me he began to walk towards me. It was really cold so I began to shiver. My dad stood before and began to speak. "A friend of mine that lives across the street said that the girl you know from down the block killed herself." I was confused and shock about what he said. Even though I barely knew anyone from the neighborhood I couldn't figure out who he was talking about. "I think her name was Keisha" my dad said looking at me.
