***Monique P.O.V.***
My name is Monique Williams. I'm 17 years old and I live in a family of four. I'm entering 12th grade and go to Cambridge High with my best friends, Hasina and Chelsea, and my boyfriend, James. It's summer vacation and I'm feeling so lazy to get off my bed. I realized it's 2:00 pm and decided to get up to do my hygienes.
After I cleaned myself up I checked my phone and realized I missed 15 phone calls from James an hour ago. "F*ck" I said under my breathe knowing that James gets mad when I don't answer his phone. BANG, BANG, BANG. I heard somebody knocking on my house's door. "Who the hell knocking on my door like they the damn police" I said feeling annoyed. I searched the house, and notice my parents and sister not here.
I walked to the door, check the peep hole, and see it was James. I opened the door and step outside. James hugs me and showers me with kisses. "Boy what's wrong with you, you know damn well if my daddy see you here he gonna kill both of us right?" I said. "I don't care what he sees. I just wanted to see your beautiful face and check if your alright. Not only did you not answer my calls, Hasina and Chelsea said they haven't heard from you all day." James said looking down at me with a worried expression on his face.
I couldn't help but smile about the fact he came all the way here just to see me. "I was just sleeping. You should know damn well not to call me in the morning cause I need to catch up on my beauty sleep" I said crossing my arms together. He smirked at me while holding my waist. "Your always beautiful in my eyes but it's good to know you looking cute for me" He said staring at me from head to toe. "So can I come in? We could just watch some Netflix and chill, but if you want we could just skip the Netflix." I couldn't help but laugh at what he said. I let him come inside and I locked the door behind him. Even though I knew what he meant by 'chill' I still lead him to the living room.
I turned on the TV and connect Netflix on it. James took a seat on the couch watching me. "What do you wanna watch?" I asked taking a seat right next to him. "Let's watch Ouija". I looked at him crazy. "Lord the nigga trynna put something in my house" I mumbled to myself while shaking my head. After I start the movie I put an alarm clock at 3:30 so he could leave before my momma come.
I focused back on the movie to see a girl hanging herself up after using the Ouija board. " Oh hell nahhh. That's what she get for messing with the spirits. She should've left that shit alone. F*ck u mean" I said still staring at the TV. James laughed at my reply and kept watching the movie. As the movie was reaching the climax my phone rang. I jumped on James because I got scared. "Don't worry I'll protect my queen no matter what" he said holding me tight. We stared at each others eyes being caught up in the moment. He got closer to me and I felt as though I couldn't breathe. Our lips were about to touch until we got interrupted. RINGGGGG!!!
"Oh my god who the hell calling me" I said moving away from James. As I check the caller ID I see it's my mom. "James don't say nothing at all, okay". He node and I pick up the phone.
Me- "Hello"
Mom- "Hello"
Me- "Hi Bella"
*P.S. I call my mom by her nickname.*
Mom- "Hi, I'm outside. Come help get the groceries"
Me- "OK. How come you here early."
Mom- "Oh, I left at 2:30 today. Lunch time wasn't busy today."
Me- "Okay, I'm coming."
I end the phone call and look at James and said "You have to go". He looks at me confuse and stands up. "My mom is outside. She left work early. Leave through the back door and wait there." I pushed him to were the back door is and said "Make sure your not seen." He node and while I was about to walk away he grabbed my arm. "Wait before you go let me get a kiss before we lose the chance." I really didn't have time to say anything so I just pecked his lips and pull away. But before I could he held me close and gave me a long kiss. My heart couldn't stop beating fast and I was short of breathe once he let go.
I quickly ran away so he won't see me blushing and left through the front door. As I walk to my mom in her car I notice she was talking to on the phone. She open her car door and asked "What took you so long?". I gave her a 'I don't know look' and help take the groceries.
After putting all the groceries in the house my mom started walking to the door. But before she did she look back at the parking lot and asked "Who Nissan is park right there?". As soon as she said that I realize that it's James' car and I felt my heart stop for a second. " It's probably the neighbors. You know they be parking there sometimes" I said feeling very nervous. " I can't stand them neighbors. They always wanna park here, and smoke, and play their music very loud" my mom said getting irritated.
Once she walked inside the house I hurried up outside to get James out of the back yard, and lied that I went to go get the mail. I open the fence that leads to the back and found James hiding behind the mango tree. "It's about time you came for me. You made me think you forgot about me." James said when I walk through. "Well I'm here now so please hurry and go before I get in trouble." I said leading him out the backyard. When we reach his car he took out his key from his back pocket and open the door. He hoped inside, kissed me one more time, and left the spot.
Seeing him go was kind of sad but I know I'll see him again someday. I went to the mailbox and grabbed the mail. When I walked inside my house my mom was near the door. I'm not gonna lie but she scared the hell out me. "I thought someone kidnap you cause you took so long. Hurry up and lock the door" my mom said full with attitude. I did as I was told and took my phone from the living room. Then went to my room and closed the door behind me.
I called Hasina and Chelsea, and made a conference call. While it was still dialing my alarm clock rang. "Bruh, it's to late now." I click the snooze button and wait for them to pick up. Once they picked up I told them everything that went down. "Lol, that's what you get for being savage" Chelsea said laughing. "For real doe. You should've got caught" Hasina commented. I starting shaking my head at them low key.
*BANG*
I jumped hearing the sudden sound. "WTF was that" Hasina yelled. I look at my window knowing it came from across the street. That sound was too familiar to forget. The sound of a bullet being shot at someone.
