Love or Heartbreak

Chapter 5

Briar's POV

I woke up, screaming from the nightmare I had to see that I was in a completely different room to my own, which makes me scream even more. Suddenly the door opened and Myles rushes in. "Myles!" I scream. He sits down and I fling my arms around him, crying on his shoulder. "Briar, it's ok, I am here. What happened?" he asks. "Sam- My e...ex boyfriend. He-he he tried to have sex with me and-and-and then Abi came! She-she punched me and kicked me and hurt me and she had-had a knife! She killed-She killed y-you!" I managed to say, still crying. "And-and when I-I-I woke up I-I-I was here!"

Myles' POV

When I heard Briar scream, I ran to her and she told me everything. I calmed her down eventually. She told me about how she found out that Sam was cheating on her and everything. I didn't want to talk, I just wanted to listen and comfort her. She seemed to inch towards me until she was sitting on my lap and hugging me. I hugged back because it seemed like the right thing to do. She didn't pull away. I kissed the top of her forehead and laid her down onto my bed. "Would you like me to stay with you until you fall asleep?" I asked. "I want to stay with you." she whispered. I picked her out of the bed and carried her down onto the couch. "I will be staying here with you, ok?" she nodded and slowly drifted to sleep once again.

Briar's POV

When I woke up Myles wasn't there. I looked around but no sign of him. I sat up and saw a note on the coffee table.                                                                                                                                                                              "Dear Briar, if you are wondering where I am, I just needed to talk to Abi about her still thinking I am her boyfriend and all, so make yourself at home. You are to eat and drink whatever you feel like. If you need me, call: 0438 265 171                                                                                                                                                         I will see you when I get home. Bye!!! Love Myles."                                                                                                          I stared at the note until everything had processed and then I turned the TV on. I flicked through the channels until I found a cooking channel that amused me for all of 2 seconds. I then thought why not make dinner for him. Just him. I would leave once I finished making dinner. I made him pasta and quickly packed up my stuff. I left a note next to his dinner and I then left.
