The bus pulls up at Joy's Village High. My black leather converses step onto the pathway. I could already smell the lemongrass trees that barricaded the school before the fence. I took a deep breath in and made my way through the the bright green, freshly painted gates that had 2 blue balloons full of helium streaming off of it. I was so happy to finally be able to see Kate everyday and actually have something to do with my life other than staying in my bedroom that my mum calls my dungeon and read books all day. I started making my way across the freshly mowed grass towards B block. "OLLIIVVIIAA" that same Leya squeal echoed in the back of my head. I spun around on my heels. I turned to face her and to my surprise she had about half of grade 7 standing with her like her little minions. Why does this girl have so many friends? "What, Leya?" I asked as I face palmed at the thought of her being here at MY school. "Mum said you have to look after me today remember? Which means you have to show me around," she teased. "I am not showing you around, figure it out yourself, you have friends." I replied as I spun back around trying to walk faster.
I finally got away from Leya and decided to sit down in front of B block to eat my muesli bar. I was hella starving since I didn't have time to prepare my own breakfast this morning. It only took a couple of minutes before Kate came running up to me. We both squealed in excitement to see each other. "Are you wearing it" she asked raising her eyebrows. "Of course I am Kate!" I replied and reached my hands to my collar to bring out my half a heart necklace. Kate did the same and we matched them together until the words read 'best friends'. Kate was probably my only friend and I really appreciated how much effort she put into getting us friendship necklaces. She was the only person I ever did anything with and we'd known each other what basically felt like forever. "Cmon, show me your time table!" She said enthused. "I already told you Kate, you're in my English, Hpe and Science class" I explained. "I know Liv but I just want to see for myself, I'm so excited for this year." I nodded in agreement and pulled out my schedule. I had Maths first period so Kate and I started walking to A block where the maths classrooms are. "What's the goss with Tom, aye?" Kate nudged with a smirk on her face. I could feel my face heating up and beginning to blush. "Just the usual, he doesn't know who I am.." I replied. My smile kind of fades. "He does know you! Liv don't be silly." She snapped hurrying me along so we could put our bags away. "He knows my name, I guess," I sighed. I then said goodbye to Kate and told her to meet me at B block so we could walk to second period, English... With Tom!

"There he is!" Kate winked pointing to Tom who looked even more gorgeous than last year. His dark brown hair swept over his face and his bright blue dreamy eyes still looked exactly like the glimmering ocean water you'd see at the beach. I was traumatised. "Hey Tom!" Kate hollered loud enough for the whole class to hear. I turned around as fast as I could. I was so embarrassed and filled with rage, hoping he didn't see me.

We took a seat in the second row near the middle of the class. Mr Leema's classroom always smelled like the air fresheners you put in bathrooms, I still remember from last year when I had English with him also. I couldn't stand it and found myself always crinkling my nose in disgust. "Okay class, we need to go through a few rules to start off the year" Mr Leema's voice was deep and quite loud. I looked around to see where Tom was sitting. He was honestly all I could think about. My thoughts were bouncing again and I felt like I was in another dimension. Completely spaced out from class. "OLIVIA HENDERSON" Mr Leema yelled. "You need to be paying attention!" He continues. I snapped out of my daze. "Yes sir" I said sharply and realised that most of the class is now looking at me, including Tom. My skin started to tingle at the fact he was now looking directly at me. Oh heart, what have you done.
Thank you for reading. Snapchat me with any ideas on how to go further. I'll probably change this a few times along with part 1. Xx
