It was a rainy Monday morning on the week of the California trip and I was quite excited to go back to school and see Tom. Of course, the only thing I could think about was him all weekend but this time, it felt different. I arrived at school a little early and instead of rushing to B Block to meet Kate I thought I'd quench my thirst first. I arrived at D Block, my absolute favourite part of the school (if there even is such place in a school). It had bright colourful daisies all the way around the classrooms and 4 tall, bushy trees that draped over the seating area. To get to the cold bubblers to refresh I had to walk through the dark alley way that most couples use to make out and sometimes smoke. When I had started to walk through the alley way I caught a glimpse of two people kissing in the very corner. My immediate thought was that the girls beautifully straightened, blonde pony tail looked awfully familiar and tried to focus my eyes to see who it was. As I moved closer I could tell exactly that it was Kate getting it on with some guy! I almost started to smile at the thought of my best friend making out with some boy in an alley way at school until I had gotten close enough to see that the boy was my Tom. My crush with my best friend. I couldn't believe my eyes. My heart started aching and I could feel my stomach drop way too far below the ground. How could Kate hurt me so bad, she knew I liked Tom. Hot glistening water streamed down my face as I turned and started running the other way as fast as I could. The heavy clonking sounds of feet hitting the marbled floor echoed through the alley. "OLIVE WAIT" shouted Kate from metres away but I could not ever lay eyes on her again.

I hardly survived the rest of the school day. Everything felt strange and shaky and for once, I couldn't wait to be home by myself. I avoided Kate as much as possible and never even looked at Tom Chambers. When the bell had rung for school to end I walked past the home ec rooms where Tom and Kate were holding hands. "Liv please, let me talk about this." Said Kate unlinking her hand from Tom's to try and grab my arm. "You knew," I said quietly as my bottom lip trembled a little and a burning sensation bubbled up inside of me and the hot tears I had felt earlier leaked into my eyes again. Kate was silent and I didn't want to speak to her anyway. I walked towards the bus line and could hear Kate shouting that she didn't mean to and continuing to say that she wants to talk. I stumbled onto the bus my eyes still saturated with sadness and sat glumly on a seat near the back of the bus. The blonde curly haired girl I had ridden behind the week before looked at me as she stepped onto the bus. I had tried to hide my face behind the seat in front of me but it was too late. "Hey..." She began but I really didn't want someone to ask how I was, I wanted to be alone. To my surprise the next thing to come out of her mouth was "I'm Sarah, would you like me to sit with you? It's okay if you don't want me to but I can tell you're upset and id hate for you to be alone this whole trip, you seem like a nice girl." There was no desperate "are you okay?" or "what happened?" And I was shocked. "Sure" I smiled through the gloomy tears. Sarah sat down in the seat next to me and told me that she was in my science class, I hadn't even noticed probably because my mind was fixated on a stupid boy my best friend was snogging behind my back.
As the bus ride continued Sarah and I became closer and talked quite a lot. Not about boys or friends but about school work and family. Sarah has a brother that seems so like Leya it's scary.
When I had reached home I had gotten over the tears but still felt hot with fury inside. What am I going to do without Sarah? I ripped off the half a heart, red necklace and through it across my bedroom floor.
I haven't posted in ages and I know it's a short part but I redownloaded wattpad and was excited to use it again. Feel free to read my older parts if you don't understand the storyline or even the description about my book might update you a little. Comment thoughts and ideas!
