It was the 9th graders' official camping trip. It was night and they were holding candles. It was kind of an apology thing. "Sorry for being such a bitch, haha!" Steph said to Amanda, laughing. It was supposed to be serious, but she was kinda joking around. She saw Josh coming towards her then. "Hey Josh, sorry I'm so awkward around you all the time.." Steph said, feeling heat creeping up to her cheeks. Josh and Sam stayed silent. They exchanged looks.
"Sorry I made you think I liked you back." Josh said simply. He walked away with Sam. Steph felt her heart break into itty-bitty pieces. But what they didn't know, is that she had a second choice. One of her own bestfriends.
