Chapter 8
June 2, 1832
Summer is here and the streets are full of life again. Children sorrounded the dusty streets that shined with the heat of the sun. Everybody was full of that happiness that summer brings... Well, not everybody. Remember those miserable beings that protagonize this story...
Jenedith and Courfeyrac were watching over Gavroche while he was playing with a girl, who seemed to be some yers older than him. Jenedith chuckled as she saw him blushing. Someone's got cooties for the first time.
“What are you laughing at?” he asked innocently.
“Look at Gav,” she paused just to laygh ore “he's got the cooties!” She said making him laugh too.
“You know, this looks just like we did when we met.” he smiled.”Just that we were a litte bit older.” he chuckled. “And backwards, because she is older.” Jendith was laughing uncontrolaby as he talked. He loved her laugh.
“Awwww, I can't stand this cuteness.” she said smiling.
He pulled out his pocket clock, and the stared at in wide eyed. “Damn it, I have to go.” he said solemnly.
“What?” The smile faded from Jenedith's face.
“You know that my finals are coming and the meeting...” he paused nervously.
“Another meeting?” she said dissapointed.
“Don't worry, darling. I'll be home early” he said pulling away the hair from her face. She hugged him tighly.
“I miss you.” she whispered in his ear. He just sighed and standed up.
“See you later.” he finally waved.
“See you.” she gave him a small smile. And now I explain why she misses him. He is always gone. It is like he is not there. Meetings. The time is near. Tomorrow they are going to announce it. She knows what they are going to do. She agrees, but it was hard to do so. The boys are building a barricade. You have no idea of how hard it is for her to let him into such a dangerous situation. If he dies. What would happen to her? What about Gavroche? Theother thing is hat she wasn't supposed to know about it. Courfeyrac told her because he couldn't stand the preassure any more. Not even Eponine knows. Not until tomorrow, but Enjolras wouldn't allow them there anyways.
She was getting pretty bored. Time to interrupt Gavroche's “date”. “Gav, com here please.” he said something o the girl and he ran towards Jenedith.
“Yes, Jen?” he said in hurry. He definitely wants to go back with her.
“Do you want to come to my apartment later? And we eat some bread and chese?” she tried to convince him.
“Maybe later. Can I play with Laura a little more please?” he begged.
“Sure.” she chuckled. So tht's her name she thought.
The minutes passed, and it was getting boring. Now Gavroche and Laura wen inside the elephant and there was nothing to look at.
“Can I sit?” an old man asked. He had amber eyes and ebony hair. He looked strong for his age; he seemed a giant next to Jenedith.
“Yes, M'sieur.” she said. But there's something weird. They look really alike. She felt that something was missing. It was like she knew him, ut she never saw him before. It has no sence. “What is such a pretty mademoiselle on her own in a day like this?” he asked trying to make conversation.
