"Why not?"

Nadine's lips were curved into a pout, and her puppy dog eyes were staring back at Mimi's.

"Because it's MY lemonade stand!"

"We can share!"

"No no no!"

"Please?"

Nadine prolonged the 'e' in please, her lips still in a pout.

"...Only if you buy me candy."

Mimi replied in a whisper, it was barely audible. Nadine's lips curled up into a smile.

"Of course I will! Come on, I'll just get ready then we'll go and buy OUR materials."

Mimi rolled her eyes and skipped out of the room, slamming the door.

-

"Do we have everything we need?" Nadine said while staring at the list in her hand, and pushing the grocery cart which Mimi was sitting in.

"I don't even know what we need."

Nadine looked up at Mimi and flicked her nose.

"Of course you don't."

They were walking to the checkout line when they accidentally ran over someones foot, causing them to cuss out.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry! Are you okay?"

She bent her head down to look at the stranger's foot, not even bothering to look at who it was. The stranger quickly moved away his foot, causing her to look back up.

"Um, I'm fine. Sorry."

He said in a hurry, and walked away as if nothing had happened.

The two girls continued on to the cashier, confusion still evident on Nadine's face.

Once they arrived at the checkout lines, they were greeted by long lines on every counter. It definitely did not help Nadine's mood when the man in front of her obnoxiously chewed on the chips he was eating, was this even allowed?

When she had finally gotten to the front of the line, the lady behind the cashier didn't say a word to her, except for when she had to tell her the amount she needed to pay. The lady was shoving the things they bought into a paper bag, after she noticed the several pieces of lemons, she snickered and grabbed one.

"What are you gonna do with all of these?" she threw it in the air, nearly dropping it.

Not wanting to be rude, Nadine replied shortly.

"I'm making lemonade with my sister."

"What? That's boring. Your little sister should just stick to coloring."

"What a great idea! Then she can use your face as her coloring book, it would probably turn out better than how your makeup looks right now."

The lady blushed, she quickly looked at the small mirror dangling below the cash register. Only now did she notice that her eyeshadow was uneven and some of her lipstick was on her front tooth. Nadine smirked, she quickly grabbed the paper bag and pulled Mimi's hand. Both of them ran out of the grocery store giggling.

-

Nadine sat on the counter of her kitchen, she was debating on whether she should call Yassi or JC to ask for help. If she called Yassi there would be an eighty percent possibility that Yassi would just throw the lemons at her, something like that happened when they were in the kitchen before.
