Anna's library books were long overdue. Studying for exams, specifically her algebra 2 and English exams, had distracted her for a brief moment. She had just finished her junior year. It was a year that consisted of hardwork and sleepless nights. It was her hardest school year yet. She couldn't wait to see what senior year had in store for her.
Anna was ready to start her meaningless summer. While her friends would be traveling, she would be spending her time traveling back and forth to the town's library.
With the thought of returning her library books in mind, she grabbed her brown purse and walked out the door. Luckily, the library was close by. It was only about a fifteen minute walk. She hated not having a car, but her lack of funds forced her adjust her lifestyle.

Nickolas was unpacking his suitcase when he heard his aunt Vanessa calling his name. He made his way to the kitchen. Ever since his mother was arrested, his mood was sour. He couldn't look anyone in the eye. Nickolas felt like he was an accomplice to his mother's crime. He refused to acknowledge that anything had happened. After hearing his aunt cry, he promised himself that he wouldn't cause his aunt anymore trouble.
When he entered the kitchen, his aunt started speaking. "So, I've made a list of place that you can go see today."  After waving the list in the air for dramatic effect, pushed the sheet of paper towards him.
The first place listed on the sheet was the library. He decided that the library would be his first destination. Maybe some reading would distract me, he thought.
Twenty minutes later he was entering the library.
