Only 10 more minutes until he can get out of this hellhole labeled as school. The words escaping the teacher's mouth were inaudible, pointless when the class is talking over his lecture. The idiots he has to be locked up with for 8 hours couldn't care less about assignments or world war 2 for that matter. The advanced classes he decided to take guarantee a faster pace of learning and students determined to learn, but all Mikaela got was a teacher babbling about his hatred for lemurs and undedicated students unwilling to learn.

Mikaela was eager to go to the new elite school he was invited to. He will finally have a chance to overachieve his goals and become a change in this crucial world. The school was in Washington, about a four hour drive from where Mika lived.

"Mikaela, you got a letter from Sanguiem? It appears to be a school," Krul called out to her son as he quickly snatched the letter from her grasp. As Mikaela ripped open the letter, he read the lettering in front of him rapidly under his breath and sucked in a dramatic breath of air.

"Fuck yes!" Mikaela cheered, clenching the letter in his hand.

"Mikaela Shindo!" Krul sassed as she shot her son a dirty glare indicating that curse words aren't allowed in this household.

Mika grabbed his phone and dialed the number on the letter before apologizing to his mother.

To Krul's surprise, he automatically accepted without any second thoughts. He quickly gave them a call, and had a pleasantly long conversation as he excitedly accepted the offer without his mother's consent, which irritated her terribly.

"When do I start?!" Mikaela rejoiced while practically hopping up and down. "6 months?" Mikaela deadpanned. Patiently waiting 6 wasn't a thought he had in mind, but he didn't let it get in the way of his jubilance.

Mika running off to Washington would force Krul into leaving her home since she wouldn't dare leave Mika on his own without parental guidance. Not that Krul minded leaving this shoddy town. The crime rate was excruciatingly high, and no one knows the cause for half of the incidents than happen here. Especially, the mysterious animal attacks that keep taking place at night, most of the time, hidden deep into forests. Mika getting injured is the last thing on her list, and she'll be damned if she finds out a filthy hand was laid on her poor son.

The school bell rang through Mika's eardrums which set happy vibes through out the empty classroom. It's time to tutor the stubborn student who don't bother studying and wonder why their grade goes down the drain.

Mikaela has been tutoring students of any age, mostly freshman, for two years and a half now, and he doesn't do it from the kindness of his heart. He considers his helping hand volunteer service. All these kids are to him are petty children who'll help him get enough volunteer hours, so it'll look perfect on his résumé because a high GPA and a flawless SAT score isn't going to cut it. The least Mika could do is help strangers and organizations out. The alternative option was joining club and getting involved with school activities, and that was an option he refused to take.

Mikaela tried joining a club once, but the only club that intrigued him was the art club. He wasn't an excellent drawer, but it beats joining the chess club.

Once he arrived at the art club, all eyes were glued on Mikaela as if he committed a brutal crime. The puzzled boy sat on the only seat available next to a girl who seemed a bit hyperactive as hell. She peered over at Mikaela with a dazzling look while jumping up and down on her seat.

"WHO ARE YOU?!" The girl hollered out, startling the blond next to her. Mikaela slowly turned to meet her fascinated gaze as he raised an eyebrow.

"Mikaela," he deadpanned as he turned towards the front of the room, hoping she can sense the cold shoulder he's giving off.

"That's a girl's name," the girl claimed as she cocked her to the side. "I'm-"
