"Wake up! Wake up! We gotta start packing Lexie."
I opened my eyes and slowly sat up.
"Yes Amber, I know we have to pack. We have all day!"
Amber was one of my best friends. She moved to Michigan when she was 8 from the Philippines. She knew some English at the time, and we instantly became BFF's. We make sure we do everything together.
"Yeah I know it's early and we have all day, but I know you'll put it off until the last minute. Now let's start!"
"Okay mom." I said rolling my eyes.
"You know that I'm right."
I sighed in defeat, I was a huge procrastinator.
I hauled out my two huge suitcases from under my bed and opened them up.
"By the way, how'd you get in? My mom is at work."
Amber held up my house key and dangled it in my face.
"Oh, I forgot I gave you that."
Amber began to talk about California and her big dreams while I continued to pack my things.
"I'm gonna grab some breakfast, okay?"
"Sure, eat whatever you want." I told her.
"Thanks Lex!"
I should probably get changed...
