I walked back to my towel and sat down. The sun dried me in minutes and I saw Amber walk back with two yellow drinks.
"Piña Coladas?" I asked.
"You bet sista."
"Yesssss!" I exclaimed and took a sip of the drink.
Amber sat down beside me.
"Honestly Lexie, tell me about Logan."
She called me Lexie, she must be serious.
"Okay fine." I spilled the truth and her mouth dropped to the ground.
"I knew it! I totally have to get you together." She said squeezing my hand.
"This is exactly what I was worried about Amber."
"What, you don't want to date him?" She asked with a shocked expression.
"No.. Cause he doesn't want to date me."
"We we'll make him want to."
Oh god, please Amber no.
"Anyways, I told you who I like, tell me who you like." I said changing the topic.
"Alright. It's Ashton."
"You mean the bad boy Ashton?"
"Yeah..." Amber said rubbing her arm.
He was pretty cute. Brown hair, blue eyes. Leather jackets and motorcycles. He was such a stereotype, but a sexy one.
"He asked for my number on the last day of school." She said twirling her hair in her index finger.
"What! You kept it from me this long!" I asked in disbelief.
"I thought you would laugh at me... And plus, you didn't tell me about Logan."
"Fair enough"
"Let's help each other out with out with our crushes." I suggested.
"Just don't embarrass me. Kay?"
"Same goes for Logan."
"Deal" we both said and locked our pinky and tried to break them.
"Ow ow!" I yelped and we burst out laughing.
We spent the rest of the day chilling at the beach. The night was taking over.
"Guys we should totally watch the sunset! I heard it was really pretty. I'll go grab us some blankets" Amber said and winked.
Conner left with Amber, so it was just me and Logan watching the sunset. This was probably the cheesiest move Amber could pull.
It was kind of awkward. But Logan didn't seem to mind.
The silence was calm, it felt right yet so wrong.
"Disney land tomorrow?" Logan asked.
"Yeah! I've never been to Disney Land. I can't wait."
"Me too!" Logan said putting his arm around me in a friendly way. I felt blush creep up my cheeks, good thing it was dark.
"You're the greatest friend ever Lex."
Ouch! Major friend zone. I just laughed to cover up the pain.
"I'm starving!" Logan said standing up.
"Same. Let's go back to the hotel and order pizza."
I grabbed my towel off the sand. I saw Amber walking back with blankets.
"Heyyyy Lex! How was it?"
"That was so awful Amber! That was such a cheesy move, I bet Logan could feel my awkwardness. Anyways, you tried I guess, can we get pizza?"
"Aww I'm sorry Lexie, and I just brought the blankets! Can we just stay and watch for ten minutes?"
"Alright!"
Amber laid down the blanked and I sat down beside her.
"I brought your phone."
"Thanks Amber!"
I opened the camera and took a picture of the sunset. I sent it to my mom, who immediately called me.
"Lexie, you were supposed to call me when you arrived!"
"Sorry mom, I couldn't wait to get to the beach."
"Is everything okay? You got your hotel?"
"Yep, it's amazing!"
"Alright, you each have your own bed so I don't want beside the boys."
"Mom!"
"I'm just joking, bye honey." My mom said and hung up.
"California is a dream come true!" Amber said leaning on my shoulder.
"Pizza!" I screamed and ran back to the hotel.
