Chapter 1

I needed a swim. I swear mum. She had a stressful day.

Then again. She always does. Like, what the hell?

I ran into the grotto, and jumped in mum's moon pool.

I swam all the way to the Mako pool where I saw 3 mermaids.

"Holy shit!! What the hell!" I yelled, they looked at me.

"Whoa, calm down. I'm Lyla, that's Nixie and Serena. You are?" The bigger one with dirty blonde hair. Lyla.

"I'm Victoria." I said,

"Oh, do you know the land boy that fell in. Dark brown hair, tan skin, tall, muscular?" Nixie asked.

"Are you talking about Zac?" I asked,

"Maybe." Serena said,

"I'm gonna go," I said, "See ya!"

I swam all the way home. I dried myself of as well. I ran to my room, got my phone, and went down stairs.

"Mum! I'm gonna do to the café!" I yelled,

"Okay, oh and get a pound of lobster while your there!" Mum yelled, I went out the door and ran to the café.

I saw Zac. Alone. Dry. Of course I had a crush on him. I sat with him. He nodded. He checked me out. Saw I was dry as well.

"Sup, Zac, what's up?" I asked,

"Umm, the sky. Nothen really. You?" He asked/answered,

"Nothing. So, what now?"

"Smoothies? On me." He said,

"Fine, but I gotta get lobster afterward."

"All you eat is sea food."

"I know."

"I'm in a prawn mood. Carley! Can I get a dozen prawns and 2 smoothies! Surprise!" Zac called, Carley nodded.

"What did you do while camping with Cam?"

"Umm, well. I don't know if I can tell you? No! Goddamnit! It's nothing we just. Camped. I fell in water. That's all."

"Zac? I know you can't lie to your best girlfriend. Or best friend that's a girl." I was calm, Carley came with the stuff.

"Leave it, I'm fine. Vicki. I'm fine." Then I took a prawn from him.

He looked at me weird. He went back to his prawns. I took another.

"Get your own prawns!" Zac yelled, I giggled.

"But that costs money. Plus you can't eat all these." I smirked,

"Oh yeah? Really?"

"Yes." Then the girls or mermaids came in. What?

I looked at them. I leaned over, but fell out the chair. I put my hand on the table. But my hand smacked my smoothie, causing me and Zac to get wet. I got up and ran outside.

Zac right behind me. I jumped of the table, onto the rail, and into the water. Once I got it my tail was there, I swam away, but something tapped my shoulder. I turned around to see a shocked Zac.

I swam above the water. I took a breathe. We were now out further in the ocean. I looked at him.

"Is this why you kept asking me all these questions?" He asked,

"Maybe?" I laughed,

"Really now?"

"Yes."

"So this is why you run whenever you're wet. I see."

"Nice abs."

"Nice body. Damn." He checked me out.

"Oh stop it. That's gross, you have Evie."

"Fine."

"Don't tell anyone."

"I won't, but how long?"

"What?"

"How long have you had the tail?"

"Life."

"Wow."

"Not really. I can't go to school like normal kids. I just. Do whatever."

"Nice." He moved closer.

Now our tails were touching. I stared into his brown eyes. Sparkling. So cute. Then we kissed.
