To begin this book, of course, we have a Contestshipping oneshot!

The corridors were filled with paper hearts. A bunch of students put up stands and tables to sell roses and chocolates.

Yup...it was that time of the year again.

Valentine's Day.

A lot of people loved it. A lot of people hated it.

One of those people who hated it is a guy named Drew Hayden.

Most people don't like the occasion because they're not fond of the topic of romance. Or maybe they're single and they don't like being reminded of that.

For Drew, however, that is not the case.

He didn't like the idea of people expecting a surprise from their special someone. He didn't like people suddenly being in the mood of wooing the person they like just because it's Valentine's.

Oh. And the part that he didn't like the most was the fact that guys would give roses because hey, it's Valentine's Day.

He felt like people should do something special anytime. Not because it's a damn occasion. It's like you're being forced into it.

He ignored all his schoolmates who were shouting his name to buy their goods. He didn't want their damn goods. He just made his way to his next room which was Math class.

He arrived at the room and noticed that a lot of his classmates aren't around yet. The bell had already rung.

He took his seat, which was beside Ash Ketchum.

"Ash, where are the others?" Drew asked. "The bell had already rung. People aren't usually late for this class."

"Oh right. Some of the students were given the permission to skip class to do some Valentine's serenading." Ash answered.

"Serenading?" Drew said with one eyebrow raised.

"Oh...I forgot. You weren't here last year. The school has this tradition where the students make a request from those people at the booths. Then, once classes start, those people will go room-to-room to deliver gifts or serenade." Ash replied.

"Pathetic." Drew muttered.

"What?" Ash said.

"Oh...nothing." Drew said as he opened his math book to check on the chapter they are going to discuss next.

"Have you received one yet?" He heard a voice from behind. He recognized the voice to be from Dawn Berlitz. He assumed that she was talking to May Maple, her best friend and also the girl right behind him in class.

"No. It's weird. It's Valentine's Day. If anything, this is the day he decides to reveal himself." May said.

Drew rolled his eyes. May was one of those 'hopeless romantics' who just want a Valentine miracle to happen.

But then...who could blame her? The girl has been receiving a rose from a mysterious guy almost every day. Of course it got her expecting something in an event like this.

"Good morning, class." Their teacher, Ian Moss, greeted them as he went to the teacher's table. "Sorry I'm a little late. I was stuck in Valentine traffic. Oh yeah...happy Valentine's Day, my little unicorns!"
