whilst the rest of his playmates enjoyed their time at the jungle gym, the lonely boy in the park had distanced himself quite a bit and did not seem to mind the quite whistle of the wind, or the cloudy sky that looked as if close to forming a storm when he was alone. he just sat in his chair staring at the undecorated chess table, and at some point in his blank starring he ended up playing himself in his mind.

it was around three o'clock and he still hadn't moved from his squeaky wooden seat, being so caught up his game he had begun forgetting about the rest of the world and his mind started picking up the pace of the match, thinking three moves ahead of his opponent, or i should say himself.

it wasn't till a small hand had tapped the table and awoken him from his trance. he looked up, straightening his back, to see a rather small girl with curly dark locks and a rather large satchel.

"may i sit here?" the unknown child asked him. when he did not answer, she took that as approval to sit with him and the nameless girl sat on the unbalanced chair in a crisscrossed legs position whilst emptying her bag to reveal various chess pieces. she then arranged them to their rightful places on the table and lastly pulled out a pair of chess clocks.

"are you ready to play?" she asked, grinning innocently as she rested her head on her tiny palms.

he again did not answer her question and she again took his silence as a yes.
