SEVEN. TRYING TO EXPLAIN

Was this really happening right now?

"I am human and no I'm the same life form as you. Just a different sex is all. We are both human just different types." I tried to explain but it was strange saying this out loud and I wasn't sure I was being clear enough. My lips twitch at the absurdity of this conversation.

"Sex?" He asked eyebrows raised expecting answers. I went beet red. No way was I explaining that. Did he really not know? Maybe he was like raised my wolves or something. How could he seriously not know these things? I know he was intelligent enough. Uhg. No, no that was crazy. This was making my head hurt. "How are we different? Like your swollen chest?" He inquired fascinated by this discovery. Like I was an Alien or foreign creature. If it was the other way round and Id never seen a guy before maybe I would feel the same. His hand smoothed down my arm to my hand and he played with my fingers bending and flexing, then pressing our palms against each other amazed by the size different. He made mine into a fist and then covered his on top engulfing mine and smiling to him self. He was making my heartbeat speed up.

"Um." I said feeling awkward. "Lukas do you really not know? Your not joking?" I asked him. He really did look puzzled. This was insane.

"Truly. I have never seen a creature like you." He told me eyes imploring me to believe him. I swallowed deeply and went with it. If this were a joke I would get over it.

"Yes we are the same but different." I told him. "Like our chests." I mumbled. "I have breasts, you don't, and then our reproductive anatomy is different. Men tend to be stronger and bigger in general, but woman can have give birth." He was still holding my hand but now his eyes where darting around my face measuring. I felt like a science experiment. He leaned in and touched his face to my neck breathing in deep groaning deep in his throat. I pushed his face back trying not to show the effect this was having on me. He didn't understand. This wasn't him interested in me. Well not romantically, more just like a bug or something. Okay I was a bug. Keep that in mind. Bug.

"Do all woman smell like that?" His eyes were glazed over as if been drugged.

"That's just my smell I think." I squeaked out. "But lots of girls and boys have nice smells when they wash." I laughed sounding more normal. He just looked at me.

"Okay." He smiled wider gazing at my face with sparkly eyes. "So you have breasts and we have different reproductive anatomy? What's that mean? And you can give birth? Is that a fighting type?" Interest clear on his face.

"Um. Uhg. I mean like down there." I pointed between his legs making him look down. I was acting like a teenager. This was just so difficult I was speaking to a man about something he should know about and yet he seemed so innocent in how he questioned things it felt odd to explain. This really was surreal.

"You don't have a dick?" His mouth dropped open. He sounded so shocked as if I'd had it removed or something. He held onto he appendage through his trousers, starting to look unwell. Well at least he knew the word. "How to you pee?" He looked up thinking. "Sucks to be you." He patted my arm sympathetic of this loss.

"No. I have a vagina instead. That's how a woman gives birth. The man puts his anatomy inside the woman and then mixes, um, stuff together inside the woman and then she gets pregnant and the baby grows inside her, a part of the man and a part of the woman. Well is doesn't always work and sometimes its just for fun but... Um... Then nine months later she gives birth to a baby." I wasn't sure that made sense. "A small human." I added in hopes it would help. He looked in awe now.

"You create young? Inside?" Impressed, he looked over my whole body as if it would pop from me at any second. "Here we must wait for the flyers to drop the young to us. You said you need a man to do this though. Could I do this with you? Ah, but nine months you must wait that is long. Will you stay so we can do this? I want to see." He beamed and looked incredibly eager to get right to the baby making.

"Well that is something men and woman do only with someone special. When they love each other and think long and hard about the decision. You don't just have a baby to see. You have to raise it until it's an adult."

"You said sometimes people do it for fun? Is it fun?" He doesn't miss anything. That had just slipped out. My face was tinting red again. Dammit.

"I like it when you blush, Ally. Its nice." He reached out fingers floating over my cheek, a feathered touch, and I got redder, making him laugh. I huffed loudly and flopped down onto the bed lying on my back. He followed suit.

"Are there lots of men and woman where you're from?" Lukas asked.

"Yes." I sighed. Missing home now. I had no family left but thought of my friends, would they search for me? Wondering just where I was, some strange island away from civilization? "Can there really be no girls here?" I thought out loud.

"Only you. I have never see a woman before, Ally. Not once. No joke."

"One woman in a world of men, huh. Hopefully they don't get as excited as you." I attempted to sound light hearted but the thought did not sit well, at all.

"I don't think we should tell many. Only those I trust." I could tell he was worrying too now. I moved to my side to see him. I was right his mouth was pulled flat, eyes squinted browns down. I bumped my head against his arm. And he moved it to ruffle my hair and then squish my face into his side. "I'll keep you safe." I wasn't sure if it was a promise to me or to him self, maybe to us both.

Eventually we fell back to sleep. It had been a long few days for the both of us. I half woke a few times shivering on top of he covers but too out of it to move. I just inched closed to he hot water bottle that was Lukas not worrying about his reaction to his in my foggy sleep brain. Later on in the night I felt him manoeuvring me under the covers and after I snuggled into him again his arms going around me his nose buried into my neck. I smiled as I faded again.
