Lizzie had been playing Call of Duty for about three hours when her mum called her downstairs.
"Beth, Maddie!" She called, "Supper's ready!"
Lizzie paused her game and left the XBox party she was in, removing the headset from her head and replying.
"Yes, mum!" She shouted as she left her room.
Rushing out her room and down the stairs, Lizzie grinned. She knew she could beat Maddie down there first this time. She came to a halt in the kitchen, sliding a bit from her socks.
"Oh, what took you so long, sis?" Maddie teased and Lizzie's face fell.
Lizzie let out a sigh and sat down at the table, thanking her mum and dad for the food and gulping down the soup quickly. Her friends would be waiting for her to come back online.
"Thanks for supper, mum!" She repeated herself and kissed her mum's cheek. "Goodnight. G'night, dad!" She kissed her dad's cheek and ran back upstairs after placing her bowl in the sink.
"Elizabeth!" Her father called.
"Yes, dad?" She replied, trekking back downstairs.
"Your aunt is coming over tomorrow. She's bringing her friend and her friend's son. The boy's about your age, you two will get along, I think. So, I'd like you and Maddie down in the family room tomorrow morning, dressed and ready. Look smart for me, okay?"
Lizzie processed what her dad had said for a moment then slowly nodded her head. "Okay, dad. Goodnight. Love you!" She said and ran back upstairs.
"And no video games!" Her mum called after her and Lizzie sighed. "Yes, mum!"
"Are you boys ready to kick some butt?" Lizzie yelled excitedly as she rejoined the party, headset on her head.
"Yay! Lizzie's back!" Kyle shouted, followed by Callum and Scott cheering.
"Yes I am, now let's shoot some noobs!" She grinned.
"Joel, dear!" Joel's mum called from his doorway. He paused his Minecraft game and turned around in his swivel chair.
"Yeah?" He asked.
