Vincent:
Two days had passed since Dr. Greer informed me that I had a daughter and, needless to say, I was still astonished. The child had to be at least six and a half years of age by now; far too long for her to be without a father.
I didn't even know what she looked like, my own flesh and blood. Did she take more after her mother or me....her father? Damn it, Emily had no right to keep this a secret from me! How could she be so selfish!?
It's bad enough that she hasn't visited me since I've been here, but keeping my own daughter away!? Apparently, I was going to have to have a nice, long talk with Emily when I got out of this place....
Of course, there was still the matter of making my escape. The security here is top notch so it's not really like I can just casually stroll out of here unnoticed. I was going to have to be cunning, like a serpent or a-
The small knock on the door nearly gave me a heart attack. I sucked in a deep breath as the door slowly opened. "Go on in, ma'am..." I heard Earl say from the other side and a few seconds later Stella was inside of my room. It was as if fate was giving me a big thumbs up to proceed with my plan!
Now I know it may seem wrong to use Stella for my plans but at this point she was the only chance I had of getting out of here. Besides, I was going to make it worth her while. I was going to help her seek revenge on Dr. Greer for what he had done to her; hell, who better than the guy who is going to tell her everything?
This was going to be too damned easy....
"Good evening, Stella..." I said as she pulled a thermometer from her pocket. To my surprise, she ignored me and stuck the thermometer under my tongue. When it beeped, indicating that it was done, she pulled it out. "Temp is normal....now let's get that pulse."
She didn't even look at me when he picked up my wrist. My heart started racing in my chest as I grew nervous. Why was she behaving this way? Stella has never acted so coldly towards me. Every time she came in before she would ask me how I was doing, or what I was watching on the television.
And there was always a smile on her face.
But now she was acting like she didn't want to be around me. "Pulse is still a little high..." She murmured, releasing my wrist and writing down my information in the chart.
She turned around to leave. "That should do it for now. If you need anything else..." Before she could leave I grabbed her wrist and pulled her to a stop.
I had to find out what was bothering her. I couldn't allow whatever it was to interfere with my plans. I'm too fucking close for that!
"What's the matter, Stella?" I asked as she turned around to look at me. "You're acting a little distant tonight."
Her blue eyes shifted to the floor. "Nothing...I'm just busy tonight-"
"Bullshit..." I interrupted, tightening my grip around her wrist. "Tell me what is bothering you."
The dominance in my voice must have caught her off guard because she stared at me like a frightened rabbit. My teeth clenched. Why was she acting like this? I've never given her a reason to be afraid of me....
