After school Rod got in his car with Maggie, he grabbed the CB transmitter and turned on the CB radio.
"This is The Judge calling all members of The Dukes meet me at junkyard 32 in about 20 minutes."
"This is Wild Willy here I'll make sure we're all there."
"Alright, also Townshend if you got your ears on you better get goin' you're not gonna want to miss this shit."
Rod started the car and backed out of his spot. Maggie turned on the under dash radio Rod had installed and playing with the tuning knob until she found a good song. And they were on the road.
So ya'll don't get too confused The Dukes are not Bo, Luke, Daisy, and Jesse Duke from The Dukes of Hazzard. The Dukes is the name of the gang that Rod is part of. They named themselves after the show. Rod and his gang are the real law of the town since the Sheriff and the Commissioner are as crooked as thieves. And that's because they are thieves, making money and way they can.
Rod pulled into the junkyard excited to see his gang ready to carry out any plan he had brewing in his mind. As long as it was something they could get a rush out of they would do it. Pulling in next to his friends car and turning his car off, he slid himself out the window so his legs were still in the car and he was sitting in the top of the door. The gang circled the car huddling over the roof like it was one big conference table.
"Alright, Rod what's up today we got our cars and plenty of time?"
"The Commissioner and Keith"
With a lot of laughs and whispering they set out after the truck Commissioner Floyd was using to deliver an entire truck of stolen VCR players he planned to re-sell for four times what he paid for them. Around the same time The Dukes were heading out to find the truck, Sheriff Keith was heading to see The Commissioner of Riverdale in his office. Now The Commissioner only does a few things eat, scheme, wheel and deal or a few of those combined. When Keith came to see him today he was doing his favorite...Eating.
"Those VCRs should be comin' in today."
Keith said as The Commissioner shoveled large spoonfuls of mash potatoes into his mouth. The Commissioner responded with bits of food and spit shooting from his mouth getting on his face as wells as Keith's shirt and tie and anything in front of him.
"Good, we'll be able to start sellin' those VCRs soon. Now Keith, I already have a few buyers set up so you better not fuck this up for me."
Keith was staring off into space deep in a simple thought on his mind.
"Now Commissioner, I think I should be getting a little bit more than 15% of the profit made on one out of every 15 VCRs we sell. I mean I'm risking a lot by helping them deliver these VCRs, and getting folks to unload and load all of them."
"Well you should stop thinkin' about that and start thinkin' about how you're gonna keep Rod and his gang from ruining all of this in which case we'll make nothin'!"
Right about then The Dukes were settin' out for their spots to watch for that very same truck. So Rod could focus on driving Maggie was giving out instructions to everyone who was either part of their plan or dreaming about what girl might belong to the beautiful voice comin' through on their CB radio.
"Alright, listen up everyone. Remember that we all have a CB radio so if one of us spots the truck report to Rod and I. Keep your eyes open, your ears on, and your CB hot. We're gone."
Not long after they were set up. Each member was on a different road. Each like Maggie had said was on the lookout, listening for any new information, and was ready to grab the CB if they saw any sign of the truck. It didn't take long for the truck to come along one of their paths. And right down Aero Blvd it went and right past Eric Dast who called in to Rod and Maggie.
"Fast Dast commin' in hot, I just saw that truck pass me over here on Aero Blvd. Ya'll ready?"
"We copy Fast Dast. Townshend you better set yourself up. Maggs and I will high tail it over there to Barry Road. Over n' out"
A Continental semi truck made its way around the turn onto Griswold Street which would soon turn into Barry Road. A long haired, dirty looking man sat in the driver's seat of truck his name was Harvey. And a life of drinking, gambling, and women who took most of his money had turned him into the greasy and smelly driver of the truck you saw today, he rode with his pal Jake. Jake sat beside him and his life much like Harvey's had left him the same way doing whatever job they could do to make a quick buck legal or not. Harvey drove while Jake held the shotgun that they believed would be able to stop any one that would try to steal their truck and/or their cargo. They were movin' along and making good time too until the road switched into Barry Road. Right in the middle of the road blocking both lanes was a rough looking dull red 1970 Cadillac.
"Shit."
Harvey said as he slowed the truck to a stop. The only way they figured they could continue and get to the warehouse close to on time would be to move the Cadillac out of their way. Which seemed like an easy task. Which is exactly what Rod and The Dukes figured they'd think. So, when both Harvey and Jake got out and made their way towards the car Rod quietly walked over to the passenger compartment of the truck, sliding himself inside. As Harvey and Jake were neared the Cadillac Townshend or better known as Chad, Rod's brother sat up. He hit the ignition and took off down a dirt road connected to Barry Road. Rod turned the ignition of the truck and followed his brother with Maggie in the Charger right behind him.
Now if you've ever heard of good news travels fast well in Riverside bad news travels twice as fast. And a few hours later Keith had been informed of the VCRs being stolen. Which meant after putting it off for as long as he could he had to tell The Commissioner.
"You no brained excuse of a sheriff! How could you let my stolen VCRs get stolen? I should make you my personal car washer so you can't mess anything else important up except the coats of wax on my car! Now you get them back or the profit that I would have made from each and every one of them is coming out of your pay."
"And that is perfectly clear Commissioner. I'll get them back if my name isn't..."
Kieth was getting excited to get back on the chase doing real police work when The Commissioner interrupted him to keep his mind on track. He wasn't about to lose all of these VCR's.
"You're is mud if I don't get them back."
