"Morning! Did you get a goodnight's sleep?
It was eight AM Rod had been up for at least an hour and a half and was now looking over at Maggie grinning like an idiot. He had woken up about an hour or two before and couldn't fall back asleep. He didn't mind though he loved watching the sunrise. And after he walked around a little to explore the area around him, he came back to the campsite to make breakfast.
"Yeah, great night's sleep. Slept like a baby. Why are you up so early?"
"Well I woke up and couldn't fall back asleep so I took a walk around and watched the sun rise. Then I started making breakfast. Speakin' of which it's almost ready."
"Why didn't you wake me up? I could've kept you company."
She said as she rapped her arms around him holding him close to her.
"Well, I figured you were probably enjoying sleepin'. And you're so cute when you're sleepin' I couldn't imagine wakin" ya up."
He had put together two plates that each had a piece of toasted bread, two eggs and two pieces of bacon. He kissed her on her forehead and handed her a plate.
"So, what are we goin' to do after we eat?"
"Well I thought we'd clean up and then go for a swim in the pond."
"Sounds good to me."
Not long later Maggie was in a blue and white striped bikini and making her way toawrds the pond. Where Rod stood in his blue trunks, he still had trouble believing a girl that good looking, smart, and so much more was his girlfriend. They spent hours swimming around in the pond splashing each other wishing that the weekend would never end. The soaked couple eventually made there way out of the water and dried off. Rod and Maggie got dressed and walked around the campground looking at the beauty of nature around them.
"So what do you want to have for dinner tonight?"
"How 'bout we have grill cheese?"
"That sounds good with me. You want tomato on yours?"
"Yeah, sounds great."
It didn't take long for Rod to cook up two sandwiches with tomato ready to eat. Rod had warmed up a can of Campbell's tomato soup to have with the sandwiches too.
"Now Rod, I've known you since we were little and been with you almost just as long but I still don't know how you're making enough money to run the farm and still buy all the things you do. Cause I've seen your paycheck from the appliance store, you don't make enough for all of that."
"Now Maggs, I love you, and I can't lie to you. But I really not something I want you worrying about right now. You got enough going on. When I think the time is right I'll tell you I promise."
"You better babe."
She said giving him a slight devious grin so much like his own it made him chuckle to himself.
Around eight O'clock Rod and Maggie figured that it was about time that they start packing up and heading home. They did still have school the next day. So they packed up their things in Rod's car and took off.
Rod brought Maggie home, he pulled into the driveway and turned off the car. He saw the covers of the in and out headlights go down covering the headlights and ending the little light that shown in the car. Maggie slid herself out the window of the car. Rod got her stuff out of the backseat and walked her to the front door. They stood at the looking into each others neither want to say goodbye to the other.
"You know this weekend was some of the most fun I've had in a long time."
"Yeah, me too."
"Well, I'll see you at school tomorrow. Right babe?"
Rod grinned a little every time he called her that because still til this day it made her blush a little and smile.
"Yeah, I'll meet you in the library, okay?"
"Great, I'll see you tomorrow."
"Bye."
"Bye."
Rod jumped back into his Charger and took off down the road with his radio blasting. A wide grin spreading across his face as he thought of what the rest of the night now held.
