Hey guys! So here is the next chapter!
🍕
I looked up and almost sighed with relief. It was only Tex.
I awkwardly stepped to the side as Tex motioned for Kyle to leave the room.
Tex locked the door and faced me. "You raced like your father."
I looked at him in shock. He knew my father? But at the same time, I wasn't surprised. Almost everyone who raced knew him. He was a legend.
But how did he recognise me as his daughter? My father from the very beginning kept me hidden. I was a secret. Illegal racing was just too dangerous and he didn't want me involved.
I had a fake name- April Summers. My real name was-
"Hayley Mikealson. You race just like him." He gave me a half smile.
I just stared at him back. So if he recognized me, did everyone else? Did they know that I was the daughter of the legendary John Mikealson?
He saw the look on my face and said, "He taught me many tricks. And a student can never forget their teacher."
"But don't tell anyone about this. I don't want people looking at me differently. I want to be treated as April Summers." I said pleadingly.
He nodded and I took that as my cue to leave.
My mind was spinning. The whole racing world knew my father and he would always try to keep me away from the spotlight. He wanted me to live a normal life.
No one knew that John Mikealson had a daughter and my mom supported him in this decision.
"It's too dangerous, Hayley." He would say.I saw Kyle talking to Zac. Oh no.
I stood next to Kyle and he automatically put his hand around my waist. Zac saw this and raised his eyebrow.
"What are you doing here?" Zac asked me.
"She's with me. It's our first date." Kyle grinned at me.
"Anyways, who was that girl? How can she beat me? She's a girl."
"Maybe she was better than you, and didn't have a huge ego." I retorted. He was acting sexist. Girls can do pretty much everything boys can.
Zac glared at me.
"Oh, look at the time! We gotta go Zac. Don't worry man, you did great." Kyle said after noticing the tension in the air.
He steered me away and I crossed my arms in annoyance.
"One day. I'm going to murder him." I said angrily.
"Hey hey hey, it's alright. You're better than him. But don't tell him I said that. He's going to murder me."
I let out a chuckle. I was better than him.
🤘🏻
"Sooo, how was the date?" Bridget squealed in my ear, handing me a coffee.
"It was good." I said, taking a sip. Hazelnut and cinnamon. Oddly, I liked the combination.
"Just good? What did he do?"
"We went to see a race." I smiled, remembering how I beat Zac.
"A race? Oh that's new. I've never heard someone take a girl out to a race before."
We were walking side by side in the hallway when I saw Zac making out with a girl. I crinkled my nose in disgust.
"You know what, let's do a girl time, you, me and Hanna. Spa day. I'm booking our appointments right now."
"Hey gorgeous." I saw Kyle and he gave me a peck on the cheek.
I blushed hard.
Bridget squealed. "This is adorbs. But I gotta find Hanna. See ya later gurl."
"Let me drop you to class." Kyle took my hand.
"But isn't it on the other side of campus?"
"Yeah, but the teacher won't mind. I'm always late."
I smiled. Kyle was really sweet.
"You know, I really enjoyed that date. I never got to tell you that." I said
"Of course you did, you whooped his ass. But I enjoyed it too. I'll let you know when we have the second one."
"A second one?" I raised my eyebrows and grinned. "I never agreed to a second one!"
"Oh, I know just how to." And he bent forward and kissed me.
