Chapter 3

“Go away!” I screeched at Sam pulling my towel tighter around my body as he casually walked in. He gave me one of grins and leaned against the bed post.

“Why?” he asked as if he was totally oblivious of my anger. I stared daggers in his direction as I grabbed my clothes off the bed. “You should of told me you were having a shower, I would have joined you”

“Get. Out. Now” He just laughed at me and came closer as I backed away into the wall behind me. I felt around for the door handle as he stalked closer. I finally felt it and slipped in to the bathroom locking the door behind me. I heard his laugh behind the door and rolled my eyes. How the hell did I end up at his castle?

Not that long ago...

I’ve been walking around the streets since I left the party last night trying to waste time and think about what I was going to do about my sister. Sighing I sat down on a bench lost in my thoughts until I felt someones touch my shoulder. I quickly looked up to see Sam grinning back down at me. “What do you want now?” I asked frustrated to see him again.

“Nothing” he replied sitting next to me.

“Then go away”

“Nope” I look at him about to start throwing punches in his perfect face of his. “Come home with me” he said suddenly. I blinked at him taking in what he just said.

“What?”

“Come home with me” he repeated slowly as if I was an idiot.

“No”

He sighed then grabbed my hand and we suddenly appeared in front of a massive castle. I felt like say something like ‘Nice place’ but was to shocked to see that we were standing in front of the castle of the demon king and his children. I just stared at it. “Did you get your place and the freaking demon castle mixed up?” I asked Sam. He looked at weirdly before saying.

“Didn’t you know I was the demon prince?”

Present time...

When I came out of the bathroom Sam sitting on the bed looking at me. I crawled up and sat next to him as he continued to stare at where I was standing before. We sat there in silence staring at the wall for a while. This was probably a record for Sam not to talk for so long. I heard a girl laughing from down the hall and wondered who she was. Maybe she was the demon princess. Sam suddenly clapped his hands and the door slammed and the room went black. “Goodnight” Sam said laying down next to me. I never bothered telling him it was the morning. Maybe time worked differently here or something. I knew Sam didn’t need to sleep and neither did I but I laid down anyway. I honestly swear this was a record for him being quiet.

The silence didn’t last long as a knock sounded on the door soon followed by it being opened putting an eery light over the room. In the door way stood a beautiful girl who looked like Sam. “I didn’t know you had company” she said looking at me with curiosity.

“What do you want?” Sam asked in an annoyed voice shooting a glare in her direction. She huffed obviously annoyed he didn’t say who I was.

“Father would like you to join us for dinner” she told him before turning around and walking away. I guess time did work differently here. Sam saw me looking at him and shrugged.

“Time works differently here” he told me. I kind of already figured that out. “Come on” he said holding a hand out for me.

“But he asked for you not me”

“So” he kept his hand out so I took it and he pulled me off the bed.

“But I can’t wear this” I pointed to my hoodie and jeans. I suddenly felt colder then before.

“I think you look gorgeous” he stated. I looked down to see I was in a long floor length black dress. It was stunning. I looked back up at him to see he was wearing something more appropriate.

“Nice” I said looking at him. He smiled at me.

“Shall we?” he offered me his hand again. Taking it I smiled back at him.

“We shall” It was amazing how we could go from hating each other to being friendly. Well I guess I was the only one who hated someone in this relationship but he was okay now. We made our way down the hallway which was also very medieval looking. I guess that was the theme they were going for. We finally came to some large doors that Sam opened and strolled in pulling me behind him. The doors closed behind us. I looked at the long table which had several seats and candles down the middle. At the end of the table was who I assumed to be Sam’s father aka the Demon-freaking-king. Next to him sat his sister and next to her was a very shocked James. I was probably even more shocked then he was. There were a few more people sitting around the table. Sam glanced at me before leading us down the table to sit opposite James. We sat there staring at each other for what seemed like forever until Demon Lord cleared his throat. He didn’t even glance at me.

“As your aware, this dinner is to congratulate the engagement of my daughter, Elizabeth to James” I was very not aware.
