Chapter 2

I sat watching my sister lay on her bed staring at the ceiling with a cigarette in her hand. I can’t believe my sister and I are even related; we’re the complete opposite I would never smoke I find it gross. I coughed as the smoke came closer to me and started swatting it away with my hand. My sister of coarse couldn’t see me because I wasn’t in my corporal form otherwise we would probably have a repeat of earlier. I sighed and leaned back against the wall behind the desk I was sitting on still thinking of what to do. Maybe I could kill the guy who killed me but I have no idea who the hell he is. “What to do” I mumbled to my self as her phone went off signaling she had a new message. I jumped off the desk and made my way over to see what it said. She smiled as she read it so it was probably good, I leaned over shoulder to look at it.

Hey, wanna meet up?

It was from a guy called Brandon. Who the hell is Brandon? I watched as she texted him back and got off the bed to change her clothes. I turned around to give her some privacy as she changed even though she didn’t know I was here. She carelessly threw her cigarette out the window before walking out her room. I quickly jumped threw a wall and stepped on her cigarette before it started a fire which was probably unlikely but I like to be safe. I ran to the front of the house to catch up with her just as a van pulled up with a guy dressed up in a gothic fashion driving.

“Hey Brandon” She said before jumping in the back of the van with some other goth kids. So this was Brandon, I’m pretty sure I saw him around school before I kicked the bucket.

“Hey Sarah” I quickly jumped in the van which smelt like cheap booze, cigarettes and some other fun stuff. He turned up some heavy metal music about how much life sucks and stuff. I sighed again which I seem to be doing a lot of lately, maybe they should write a song about how much the after life sucks as well. It wasn’t long before we pulled up at some deserted building with music pumping out of it and people standing out the front. This had never been my scene but Sarah always loved to get drunk and have some fun as she called it. I don’t really see how this is fun but that’s just boring old me. Everyone started piling out of the van and heading over to the party. I stayed back with Sarah who waited for Brandon who walked up to her and kissed her. Not long after they were making out against the side of the van. Just to get her away from this guy I felt like yelling at them that party is over there. 10 minutes later when I’m pretty sure clothes were about to come off I put the hood of my black hoodie on and ran across the road to the building turning corporal.

“Hey, you guys coming?” I called out to them that seemed to snap them out of the trance pretty quickly. Sarah gave me a deadly death stare as she passed me in to the party with Brandon behind her who gave me a look nearly the same a Sarah’s. I really don’t like Brandon so I gave him one back. After they disappeared in to the crowd. I decided I might as well join the party since I was still undecided in what to do and I wasn’t going back to James’s place until I had completed what he told me to do. Which basically left me homeless, bored and a big craving for chocolate. I made my way through the crowd of sweaty bodies over to the drinks table. There was enough alcohol to probably fill an entire liquor store and still have some left over. I grabbed an unopened bottle of whatever. A husky chuckle sounded behind me and I turned around to see a tall guy with silver hair and blood red eyes. I scowled up Sam who just gave me an amused smile in return. God, I hated demons especially Sam who always seemed to have one goal that was to annoy me.

“Isn’t that a bit strong for you?” he asked grabbing the bottle and showing me the label that read ‘Tequila’. Maybe it was a bit too strong to drink out of the bottle… But it was not likely I was going to admit that to this douche of a demon. “Maybe something a bit lighter…” he said going through the bottles “like this” he threw me a beer.

“But beer makes you fat” I stated looking at him. He just raised an eyebrow at my statement.

“Your dead you can’t get fat” he reminded him. I scowled at him because he was right. He just shook his head at me “I heard you made the boss mad, what did you screw up this time?”

“Nothing” I mumbled and downed my beer. He whistled at me. I glared at him but he just put his arm around my shoulder. Oh my gosh, couldn’t this guy take a hint? I shrugged off his arm before turning around to him putting on my sweetest smile. “Well it has been completely terrible seeing you here, so why don’t you run along and do your job which doesn’t include me”

He just shrugged “I could help you if you want”

“What?”

“I could help you kill your sister” I stiffened at the reminder of what I was supposed to doing and gave him another glare.

“Sam”

“Yes?”

“What do you not understand about leaving me the hell alone”

He shrugged again “I was just offering, but if you need help don’t threaten to call” he smiled. There was no way in hell I was about to make a deal with a demon so he can just shove it. I just continued to glare at him. He sighed at me “Do what you want”

“I will do just that” He shook his head at me as if I disappointed him. Then something flashed in his eyes and he smiled at me before bending his head and kissing me. His lips felt good against mine and before I knew what I was doing I kissed him back feeling him smile against my lips. He bit down on my lower lip drawing blood then started sucking it. That seemed to snap me out of whatever sick trance I was in. I pushed him back completely horrified with myself for kissing a demon, but he started it so of coarse I took all my anger out on him. “What the hell?!” I hissed at him. All he did was smile at me.

“See you Alice, don’t get lost in this wonderland” and with that as his final words he disappeared in to thin air. Just poof! If I could I would take Sam’s soul but since he’s a demon he seems to be lacking one. I again sighed, that was probably one of the most interesting 20 minutes of my life, but just one of. I decided to look for my sister to see what she was up to. I found her near the back with douchebag Brandon and some other stoners who were higher than a kite. I stopped near where she was leaning up against a wall. The guy next to me turned my offering me some goodies that I declined. I have never been baked and was not planning to any time soon. This was such a hard decision to make. I really did not want to kill my sister or anyone else in her place; even Brandon didn’t deserve to die. My lip was still bleeding from Sam, which made me remember his offer to help. Maybe he does want help and is giving me his help out of the goodness of his nonexistent heart, but somehow I think he will want some thing in exchange for his help. The question is how much am I willing to give for my sister? Well I already gave my life and I’m pretty sure Sam won’t want my chocolate stash.

Screw it; what do I have to lose? A lot, but I honestly don’t think I have it in me to kill Sarah. My cheeks felt cold and wet with tears that I quickly wiped away. Now was not the time to be crying, well maybe it was but I’m supposed to be a grim reaper not a sad lost girl. This was not my ideal afterlife.
