Black Beauty : Chapter 2 - The Chase
Jesus Christ this woman walks fast.
Scratch that. More like runs fast.
Like FAST.
She might as well have been the human metro. My legs were giving way. I'm surprised they haven't turned to mush yet. We've been at this for at least 15 minutes.
Why am I running?
Well folks, my tracking scheme was going well for a while. You could tell I was doing a marvelous job as the lady was oblivious to anything that surrounded her.
But then somehow Satan managed to magically stick a twig in my path and unlike the klutz I am, I stepped on it.
Crack.
The damned sound echoed throughout the empty street. She turned around and I could have sworn that her entire body jolted in shock.
And that ladies and gentlemen, was when the great chase began.
My legs were about to snap, leading to me not having the ability to run much longer. I came to a halt, with desperate for the need of oxygen. I should really be concerned about my physical stamina.
"Laaaady, could you wait a bit?!", I managed to squeal.
To my surprise, the lady stopped in her tracks and spun around to face me. I caught a glimpse of her figure clothed in black and fell to my knees.
I could feel the bile rush up to my mouth. Soon after I was coughing up the liquid onto the road. My vision was starting to fade. I think I may be running out of shape.
Footsteps thudded towards me and a heap of darkness crouched in front of me. A pale hand offered me some water and placed its hand on my back rubbing circles and all kinds of abstract patterns.
"Don't you worry sir, it'll be okay."
I sighed. The mission was a success - even though I almost coughed my lungs out.
Slowly bringing my head up I took a good look at the kind female.
Holy. Flapjacks.
