~10 years ago...Madisons POV~

I sat on a stool in Miss Kay and Phil's kitchen. John Luke was next to me, rubbing my back. I had my face in my hands and tears streaming down my bright red face.

Miss Kay looked at me worried as she was waiting for my favorite chocolate chip cookies.

Soon Phil walked in and noticed something was up."Madison, everything alright there?" he asked.

John Luke shook his head no."No. her mom and daddy passed away today. she went to go awake them up this morning and they weren't waking up nor breathing. So she called me and my dad first then called 911. Dad and I went to pick her up. So she might be living with either you guys or with us. Whoever her parents left her with." He told Phil.

Phil nodded." Is Miss Kay making Madison her favorite cookies?"

Miss Kay nodded."Yes, after I talked to Willie on the phone, I made 2 dozens. So her and John Luke could hang out and play video games. I'm giving her some chocolate milk too. She said she loves milk with her cookies."

I stiffed a little and looked up. Tears welled up in my face. "I'll be fine." I lied.

John Luke looked at me and shook his head."I know we're 7 years old, Madison. But I know you better than that. you're lying."

I nodded and hugged him tightly."I just need time."I told him.
