-Eren-

"Your liver stopped working."

My mothers grip on my shoulders tightened as she stared at the doctor. "What does that mean?"

He gave us a sympathetic look, "Unless you can get a donor, I'm afraid your son only has two months to live."

At that moment the entire room froze. The air felt like it wasn't moving anymore.

I felt something wet land on my head and I looked up from my seated position to my mother, tears ran down her face.

I stood up and hugged her, feeling like I was going to cry. I didn't care that this was happening to me, it was my mother I was worried about.

"Oh, Eren." She sobbed, burying her face in the crook my my neck. "I'm so sorry."

I was causing her pain.

And I hated that.

Ever since I was a child, everyone said that I put others before myself. I would die happy as long as I knew I protected someone.

We stood like that for a moment before the doctor handed my mother a clipboard. "You can write down your sons name, and if there's a donor we will contact you."

She nodded and kissed my forehead before grabbing a pen and writing my name with shaky hands.

Pain shot trough my gut and I let out a strangled cry, gripping my stomach and partially loosing my footing.

"Eren!" My mother yelled out with concern, grabbing me and helping me stand.

"I'm alright," I stuttered, feeling a metallic taste enter my mouth and dribble down my chin.

"Doctor!" She cried, giving him a wild look. He nodded in understanding and grabbed the phone on the wall, "We will have to perform surgery to remove some of his liver, if we don't his internal organs will fill with blood."

My mother laid me down onto the floor, Tears flowing down her face, "You'll be okay," she sobbed, "I know you will, you're strong."

I weakly smiled and placed my hand on the side of her face, "Please don't cry."

This only made her cry harder, grabbing my hand and pressing the side of her face into it, "Please stay with us."

I suddenly felt it hard to breathe. I coughed and gasped for air.

"What's going on?!" She screamed to the doctor, who was rushing around, calling people and preparing a room for surgery.

"We don't know ma'am, we don't know how this would affect his lungs, but it is."

The room started to go black.

Beep Beep Beep

I opened my eyes and looked around,  I was in was hospital bed, my mother was asleep on the chair on the other side of the room, and a few of my friends were talking quietly in the corner.

"Hey." I said weakly, my voice cracking a bit.

Armin spun around, "You're awake!"
Armin, Mikasa (My sister) Jean, Marco, Connie, Sasha, Annie, Krista, and Ymir were here.

Mikasa ran to me and flung her arms around my shoulders. "We heard about, um, how long, you have left."

Everyone else crowded around my bed, and I nodded, "Yeah, two months of a hospital room, whoop-EE."

Armin started crying and he buried his face in his hands, "I don't know what I'm going to do without you."

I smiled at him, "When I die, don't worry about me, live your lives."
