Last summer, in the Author's note of chapter 24, I wrote:

"I'm going on a holiday and I don't know if I'll have much time to write while I'm there. [...] It would be cool if I could finish the Dracherwold story arc before I leave, but I can't promise anything; I find it hard to estimate how many more pages the arc will take."

Yeah. I suppose that one would rank pretty high on my list of most inaccurate expectations, seeing as I went on that holiday last August.

Now, more than six months later, I finally did finish the Dracherwold arc. Since we're getting closer and closer to the final battle against Darfith, I wanted to give you awesome people an update on my intent for the rest of the story.

For a long time, I've been planning what would happen in the final battle. It's going to cause a major change in at least one character's life, and that change will have a tremendous impact on Garowain as a whole. Originally, I wanted to tell this story in this book, after the battle against Darfith. However, my imagination has a tendency to blow plot ideas out of proportion.*

In the meantime, my mind has developed a setting, a rough plot and a couple of characters for the story after the battle against Darfith. I've come to the conclusion that all this material can easily fill a whole book. So, in short, Prince of Dragons is going to have a sequel.

So basically, book 1 will tell the story of Enorwin's quest and the battle against Darfith. Book 2 will detail the events after the battle. Both stories have their own plot, which led me to the decision to split up the story, but the events in book 2 are caused by the events in book 1, and several subplots from book 1 will continue in book 2.

That's what I wanted to let you know for now. As I said, we're getting closer to the final battle of this book, but I can't promise how much longer it will take. However, now you have a vague idea of where I intend to go with this story.

Thank you for all your support and for making it this far into the story. You've all been a great source of motivation for me to keep working on this story, and some of you have been here from the start. You are awesome, readers.
