Stefan remembered what klaus said when he was talking about Him and Elena and that brought him back to when Elena said she chose him
Flashback:
Stefan: I love you so much
Elena: do you know why I came back?....I came back for you, because I love you and no matter what happens it was the best choice I ever picked
Now:
Stefan was now on a date with Caroline which is (Elena's best friend) he asked her out on a friendly hangout but in stefan's mind it was a date, when they got there they saw Damon and Elena, which got Stefan really heartbroken.
Elena and Damon went to mystic grill and they recognize Stefan and Caroline so Damon asks Elena: do you want to leave? But Elena says "no, it's fine" which in her mind she wants to know why Stefan is here with Caroline, she sees them laughing and talking and Elena starts to get what do you call it...jealous, so she gets up from her chair and goes to greet them.
Elena: Hey guys
Stefan isn't paying attention to her what's so ever, Stefan knows Elena is staring at him but Stefan just wants her to leave, so Elena stops staring at Stefan and starts to talk to Caroline...but then Stefan gets up from his chair and looks for Damon but he doesn't see him so he grabs Elena and tells her.
Stefan: why are you here? He says madly
Elena: getting a little jealous?
Stefan: no I'm here with Caroline and NOT YOU
Elena: ouch?! That hurt, but first let me ask you the same
Stefan: you really want to know why I'm here?
Elena: yes and then I'll tell you why I'm here
Stefan: I'm here because my girlfriend is a vampire and she's supposedly in love with my brother and I'm trying to move on while she's spending the time of her life with him, that is why
Elena feels her heart pinch a little
Elena: I'm here because Damon and I wanted to come here, I'm sorry Stefan
Stefan: just do me one favor...Elena
Elena: what?
Stefan: stay away from me, I'm trying to move on and next thing you know it, you pop up in my head or your in front of me so for crying out loud, don't ever talk- Stefan gets stopped when Elena admittedly kisses him, but pulls away, she looks deeply into his eyes and runs away leaving Stefan so confused.
