~Third POV~
Time: Boruto: Naruto the Movie❌❌❌
"And you have to finish these files for tomorrow's meeting." Shikamaru plopped a heavy pile of papers onto the Hokage's desk.
Naruto held his head, "What?! For tomorrow?!" He ran his hand through the papers quickly, "With a pile like this, I won't be able to make it home tonight!" He swirled around in his chair, looking at the Calder next to a picture frame with his wife in it. "And today's Valentine's Day too! I promised Hinata I'd take her somewhere special today!"
"Valentine's day?!" Shikamaru's eyes widened. He looked around frantically, then swiped up a rose from a nearby vase, "I'd better get home to Temari quick!" He spun on his feet, "Night, Kage!"
Naruto groaned loudly, holding his head. He glanced back at the smiling picture of Hinata, then at the files and sighed deeply.
'And the kids are already at Kiba's place..I can't let her rot alone..'
Naruto then clasped both his hands together, "Shadow Clone Jitsu!" When he had successfully cloned himself, he stared at him and commanded, "Oi, Baka! Stay here and finish filing these for tomorrow!"
"Why should I, huh?" The clone argued. "So you can go have fun with your hot wife while I rot here? No way!"
"Hey! I'll pay you with ramen, ya know!" Naruto slipped off his Kage jacket and hat and dressed hem onto his clone, "I'm outta here. Those better be done by tomorrow, or else you'll regret it!"
As the real Naruto hurried home, the clone cracked his knuckles and began to organize the papers. After a while, his stomach growled.
'Maybe I should go get a small snack, just to keep me on my toes!'
Meanwhile, Hinata solemnly got changed into a lavender sleeveless dress her husband had bought her for this day. She sighed, as she ran her brush through her indigo hair. She didn't expect him to come anyways, since he was always so busy, and she understood that. But she still felt somewhat..neglected. She knew how much he loved being Hokage, but sometimes she did wish that it wouldn't interfere with their relationship.
'I guess I'll go pick up the kids if he doesn't show up..'
She then opened a drawer with an elegant gesture and was surprised to see a bright red box at the top, with a label that read 'Read Me!'
As she lifted it up, she read the tiny note attached to the box:
'Hinata,
Just a little thank you for being the most amazing woman ever. I love you forever! >.<
~Naruto'She smiled to herself, and opened the box with a gasp. It was a necklace, with a sparkling, teardrop-shaped amethyst in the centre. Hinata swept her hair back and tried to hook it on, but ended up struggling.
"Need a hand?" warm hands took the ends of the necklace and clasped it together perfectly.
Hinata turned around and dropped her jaw in surprise at the sight of her husband, clad in a perfectly ironed suit, "Naruto?! How did you get out of work so easily?"
"Hmm, I have my ways." he winked at her, then held his arm out, "You ready?"
"Of course." she laced her arm into his and began to head outside, as he kissed her hair.
"I wouldn't miss this day for anything; not even a eating contest!"
Hinata laughed gently, "Oh, Naruto.."
