Chapter 2
‘I was at a cliff near the seashore watching the sunset with a handsome man, probably a prince. He then turned to me, putting a finger underneath my chin so I look him in the eyes. His face starts moving closer and closer, with are lips barely inches apart. I begin to close my eyes when our lips were only a breath apart now. He then ̶ ’ RIIIIING RIIIIING RIIII ̶ I smash my hand onto the horrid contraption to put it to sleep. I attempt to go back asleep without effort for the next ten minutes. Before my alarm clock has the change to speak again, I turn it off, silencing it for good this morning. I get up from my warm cozy bed to be left standing in the frigid cold air and on the frozen wood floors, wishing to go back to my bed and sleep. However, the cold temperatures sap the last of my sleepiness from me, causing me to fully awake. I then begin to go through my daily morning routine. Wash my face, brush my teeth, get change, eat breakfast, put some make-up on, arrange my necklace, and I’m out the door.
I begin walking on my daily path to Green Mist Academy. It’s about a 10 minute walk from home to school, so I get there pretty quickly. I reach the front gates of my school, where there are crowds of students everyone, hanging out with their friends. I go to a private school that has students ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade, of course the elementary, middle, and high schools are separated. The high school building is very big and it has many different buildings for the different activities and subjects. The school also has beautiful gardens all around the campus, making the academy even more spectacular.
I walk down the paved path leading to the front doors of the high school building. Almost everyone is hustling and bustling to get to first period, even though we have about 20 minutes until first period starts. There is so many names being shouted, but there is one that sticks out the most to me.
“Mia!” someone had said behind me. ‘Huh, that voice sounds very familiar, I wonder who it is.’
“MIA!” the same person said again. I then felt someone grab my arm and turn me around that I see a petite girl with short brown hair and green eyes wearing the standard green and teal uniform.
“Mia! Didn’t you hear me calling for you?” she said. I stood there looking at her, confused and then I look at the window. I see a girl staring at me with long blonde hair and chocolate brown eyes and curves in all the right places.
I look back towards the petite girl and reply, “Sorry, Cassie, I was off in my own world again,” giving her a sweet and innocent smile.
“It’s ok, you are my best friend and I understand that even you go to dream world too,” Cassie said enthusiastically as we start heading towards our lockers in the sophomore hallway. Fortunately, we both have our lockers right next to each other’s. I dial my combination and open my green locker to binders, textbooks, and pictures of me with friends and at track practice and competitions.
“Oh, hey, can I borrow your math homework? I didn’t understand much of it, so can I see what you did and compare what I did to what you did. Please~,” Cassie asked.
“Sure, no problem, if you have trouble with anything just ask me,” I reply and with that we head to our first period where not many people have shown up yet. I only recognize a few of the people but I recognize one person in particular, Conrad Xaylon. He is our class president, who has a major crush on me. He is wearing his green and teal uniform properly compared to many guys in our class. He always has his dark brown, almost black, hair smoothed back in a polite way. He is slightly taller than me by a couple of inches but his eyes are so large and blue, partially due to his huge circular glasses, making him look like an adorable little kid. Sadly, no matter how adorable he is, I just can’t like him. I only consider him a good friend.
