Strange happenings

Jody yawned, switched off her light and climbed in to bed with what little energy she had left. She fell asleep almost instantly.

Later on in the night a sinister whooshing noise woke Jody. She sat up and rubbed her eyes, an eerie glow seemed to come from the supposedly 'ordinary' pen. Jody seemed to be memorised, she got up out of the bed and headed towards her desk. Picking up the pen she began to scribble frantically. After a while of this she sat in silence, when she turned around her eyes were shown to have swirling shapes in. When the clock struck 12:00 Jody stood up and began to mouth 'all hail the ink' repeatedly for exactly a minute, then suddenly snapped out of it and lay down in her bed.

The next morning Jody awoke from her slumber and was greeted with welcomed silence. She had no recollection of the events that had unfolded the previous night. As she prepared her breakfast she came across an envelope in which a note was enclosed explaining that her parents had gone out to the shops and wouldn't be back for a while. This suited Jody just fine as she had homework to be getting on with. She was almost excited about the prospect of homework, due to the fact she would be able to use her interesting new pen.
