It was when Jody was sitting down in her room, examining her pens she could really feel the true power that they beheld. It terrified her. She thought the pens were highly peculiar and rather extraordinary.

Jody had tested out Mr Banks pen and it told a similar tale. As she scribbled down her homework with Mr Banks pen it became apparent that it also enhanced her knowledge.

"Jody, Sammy's here, are you decent?" Said Jody's mother from behind her bedroom door.

"Yeah, come on in." Answered Jody, rolling her eyes. She had become absorbed in her work so to be disturbed was rather inconvenient.

"Alright then, I'll leave you to it." Jody's mum said going downstairs.

"I haven't seen you in ages" said Sammy plopping himself down on the bed.

"Yeah" Jody replied, disinterested.

"Oi, what's up?" Asked Sammy, concerned.

"Nothing, I'm just tired" Jody said unconvincingly, although there was some truth in what she said. Ever since she started to use the pen she had become drained of all her energy and obsessed with it.

"Don't fob me of with that! Y'know I can always tell when your worrying about something."

"I'm fine, really." Said Jody, looking away.

Sammy let it drop and walked over to the desk and saw the pens.

"Ooo I've not seen these before there dead nice, hey do need two??" Sammy hinted.

"I suppose not, but they're weird and wretched so I dunno why you'd want one." Said Jody bitterly.

"Seriously, what's up?!" Said an infuriated Sammy.

"You wouldn't believe me." Jody said sadly.

"Try me." He said, using a softer tone.

"Well it going to sound daft but here goes..." And so she told him all about the pens and the overwhelming properties they held.

Sammy listened quietly throughout and when she was done opened his mouth.

"May I see one of them in action" he asked, cautiously, it had taken Jody a while to confide in him and he didn't want to put that in jeopardy.

" I suppose so" Jody got up and handed Sammy a pen.

"Alright then" Sammy picked up the pen and started to scribble frantically.

Jody stared at him, shocked. Is that really how she looked? His eyes had gone from a clear green to a icy blue with red lines in.
