Xavier

He panted harshly, his feet prickled at the feeling of running barefoot. He felt frantic and almost euphoric.

"Xavier! "Someone yelled in the distance which only drove him to run faster. If he could hear them, they were too close. He was close, he could feel it, he could be free. Then, he hit a wall. He groaned as he fell to his ass, he blinked and saw nothing but the vast fields, begging him to get out. The wall was invisible. He stood fast and pressed his hands against it, pushing, there was a black hue to it.

"You can't just run, "Xavier froze and turned his head to the right to see Xavier Phoebe, glaring with his violet coloured eyes."Theodore disappears and you just start running like a mad man, how can we not try to hunt you down?" There was anger in his eyes, raw and untamed.

"What?"

"He won't kill you, Xavier, just...stop running. " Xavier looked back to the direction he was running towards, where the invisible force field was. Everything felt wrong, off and he hated it, he needed to get out of there and fast. Xavier felt his hands warm up and looking down they were glowing a soft blue, he decided to question it later as he held his hands up in front of him and pushed them towards the invisible wall keeping him from leaving. Like butter, he cut through the thing and when he was through, he stared at his hands with amazement, he found himself wondering how he'd done it, what else could his hands cut through. Behind him there was a shout and he turned to see the entire pack assembled after him, his eyes widened before he turned and ran.

The woods were getting thicker, wilder and darker, the yelling had stopped, he couldn't hear them anymore but, that didn't mean he was safe. He ran, slowly because of the thick branches which held him back from running faster. There was a thick mist forming and he stopped when he seemed to be in the center, the trees formed a circle around him, he couldn't see beyond the thick brown trunks and large green leaves.

He wanted to scream, yell, just something. The silence was deafening and he hated it. It was getting dark, he could barely see and his heart was beating rapidly against his chest, threatening to jump out from his ribcage. There was a snarl and the snapping of twigs. He panicked and looked around himself.

"Hello? "He asked and was surprise to find his voice steady and strong even though he was truthfully scared out of his mind. From the darkness of the trees, four large figures appeared, they crouched lowly and growled at him. The wolves had red beady eyes which shone with hunger and anger. Xavier raised his hands up in a means of defense. He breathed through his lips, urging his heart to slow, his fear to calm. A thick fog of black rose from the ground and the wolves growled loudly, they were ready to lunge but then they disappeared and Xavier felt his heart stop. He couldn't have possibly done that, could he?

The dark mist rose, covering him, enveloping him in darkness and he screamed, fear gripped at his very soul and his eyes closed. There was a giggle and his eyes snapped open. The sun shone brightly above him, warming his skin. He looked down at himself, he was shirtless and barefoot with only boxers on. Before him was a large green field, he stood behind a large bush, he could see beyond it though because of the hole left in it, it was perfectly circular as though purposefully made.

"I wish...I wish it would be like this forever." Xavier looked on and gapped, his heart had calmed down and now he saw the youngest Phoebe, his violet eyes bright and a large smile graced his face and he looked up at non other than Christian, his eldest brother. Xavier inched closer and squinted at their happy faces. Then he realised, this was not real. He touched the bush and watched the scene play out. "I just want to be with you...forever."

"You don't want us to go back? "Christian questioned with furrowed brows.

"I hate what that place does to me..." Xavier Phoebe admitted. "I hate how defenseless I am to it, how weak and willing I seem to become. If I go back...nothing good will come of it, I just know it." Christian grabbed onto his waist and pulled him flush again him.

"But our family is there. "

"You're my family." Xavier swallowed and the image began to peal away, as though painted on, it fell away, Xavier stepped back as everything was consumed in fumes. He coughed and gasped, his head fell back and he felt the world tip on its axel. Then he fell, and he kept falling until it didn't seem like he was falling at all.

"... Xavier? Can you hear me? "Xavier was exhausted, sweat coated entire body and he was tense. Light flashed and he blinked." Are you okay? "His eyes hurt from the shift from darkness to light but he felt alright. He swallowed and licked his lips.

"What happened?" He asked, his voice low.

"You went into shock, I guess. After you took hold of Danielle's hand you sort of just...froze, you've been here for the passed three hours, laying there, still and with your eyes wide open as if you had been petrified. "Travis explained with a frown. Xavier wasn't sure what to make of everything, he had been in shock? For three hours?

"It was more like a short hibernation really, but, okay." Theodore said with a small smirk. Xavier blinked at him.

"You? You're supposed to be..."Xavier wasn't sure where he was supposed to be, he just knew he wasn't supposed to be here.

"Why not? " Theodore asked him. Xavier opened his mouth, not sure if he should confront the issue, ask about what he saw, but he was curious, his hunger to know had always been an issue of his, it was never controllable.

"You said that I was given the grace of rebirth, then you apologised, I wasn't sure to whom, but you did and then you disappeared. "He said to Theodore then chewed on his bottom lip. Theodore didn't look surprised but instead worried as he scanned the room.

"I wish you hadn't repeated that." Xavier furrowed his brows.

"Rebirth? "Travis repeated again and Theodore sighed. Xavier scanned the room, his eyes landing on Christian then falling to his hand which was gripped tightly in Xavier Phoebe's smaller hand.

"Guys, could you...give us a moment?" They were silently turning to one another before giving a sigh and leaving, each lettings their hands linger on Danielle's barely conscious body. "Xavier," he began. "This is difficult because I have to be careful about what I say and don't say." He explained moving towards Danielle and dabbing her forehead with a wet cloth. "The truth is I can't really tell you what you want to know, you have to figure that out on your own. I am sorry but, that's all I can really say."

"You can only tell me that you aren't supposed to tell me? Wow, I can only wonder who made that decision. "He said sarcastically and jumped to his feet.

"The Supreme Council actually." Theodore said and Xavier paused for a moment.

"Things would be a whole lot easier if everyone knew everything. "

"Perhaps, but it would change the outcome of everything. Somethings are better left undone." Theodore said sounding older than he looked.

"Honestly, for once I actually wish I was at school. "Xavier admitted feeling the weight of everything finally settling on his shoulders." I wonder, "he mumbled and looked at Theodore.

"About your friends?"

"I guess you could call them that. "Xavier shrugged." Do you think they are okay? "

"What do you feel?" Theodore asked him instead and Xavier furrowed his brows.
"What do you mean? "

"You are linked to those you once knew, mind and soul, you are bound." He said as though reciting a riddle. "If you can focus your mind, you just might be able to find them, mabye even speak to them." He said turning away, heading for the door and Xavier wondered if it only applied for casters.

"And you? Can you do that with Elijah? " Theodore stopped and turned his head slightly.

"So can you." He said in a whisper which was a confirmation for Xavier but he wondered why he'd even need to contact the man. Xavier rubbed his forehead, he had a headache coming on and he needed to sleep, he had school the next day and it wasn't as life shaking as being with the large Phoebe clan and Theodore.
