"B-Baba?" She muttered, tears starting to stream down her face.
"Why would you do this? Those were my friends!"
Her betraying father stood in the doorway, breathing heavily.
She shook her head. "Why, Baba?"

He grabbed the stake out of Nabulungi's hands and snapped it in half, flashing an evil smirk.
"What got into you?! What happened?!"

Without answering, he whipped out a butterfly knife and quickly impaled her in the stomach.

She choked out her last few words, blood dripping from her mouth.
"N-No..."
The lights faded, and so did her determination.
A blood tinted tear rolled down her cheek as she heard the other elders screaming in panic.

Dim, dimmer, pitch black.

She was gone.

Four. Four new stars in the sky. It seemed as if they were holding hands.

Naba's eyes slowly opened, and she jerked forwards, sitting up on her bed.
"NO! BABA!"

She looked around, tears welling in her eyes.

She was alive. She was safe.

"W-wha...?"

Arnold was sitting by her bed with a concerned look on his face.

Nabulungi locked eyes with him and smiled, tears of joy streaming down her face. She tackled him into a hug.
"You're alive! You're alive! Arnold, oh my God!"

Arnold smiled in reply. "Of course I am, Naba! Why wouldn't I be?"
"You drowned. You were dead!"

"No! No, oh my gosh! Did you have a nightmare?"
She pulled away, realizing it was really all a terrible dream.
"Wait, did I?" She trailed off.
"I did!"

Arnold sighed. "We all probably had bad dreams after the incident that happened yesterday." A tear rolled down his cheek.

Naba's heart dropped. "Incident?"

"You know this! Kevin and Conner were caught inside of a burning hut yesterday. They refused to leave one another, so they just decided to burn together."
Her eyes filled with tears.

"W-What? That actually happened?" She yelled.

"Yes. We're all mortified. But we're all still here. There wasn't a murder, just a natural disaster. We all feel terrible for not trying to help."

Naba frantically ran outside, bare feet and nightgown. She looked at the morning sky.
Everything was the same, except there were two stars poking out in the sunlit sky.

Two. Two new stars in the sky. And it seemed as if they were holding hands.
