Preston looked out the window of his dad's car. The sky was dark, gruesome. It fit the moment perfectly. Preston could stop thinking. People that he knew could have died. They still might be. It was about a 25 minute drive from  prestons school to his house. They arrived to their house and got out of the car. Preston walked inside to see Cara watching the news in the living room. Cara looked to the front door to see Preston walk in. She ran towards him and hugged him. "Your ok!" She said hugging him tightly. "Look your all over the news." Cara said as she the remote and turned up the volume on the tv.

The boy that supposedly saved this girl named ruby just drove off in a black car. We are not sure when we will see him again, but if we do then we would like to ask him some questions.

We are here with ruby, the girl that was saved. Now walk me through what happened in that building.
"That boy saved my life. I was stuck in the corner of the burning classroom he was knocked out..." Ruby said.

The crowd of news reporters roared over ruby talking. You couldn't hear her at all. You could see her squinting from all the camera flashes going off.
"Did you know her " said Cara. Preston ignored Cara and continued looking at the screen.

"If you had anything to say to the man that saved you what would it be" said one of the reporters. "Preston, please find me, i have so much to ask you." Said ruby.

"So you save a girl and you just disappear." Said Cara." It wasn't my choice." Said Preston. "Dad pulled me away when I tried to talk." Preston said. Preston walked up stairs to take a shower. "PEOPLE WANT TO SEE YOU" Cara yelled upstairs to Preston. Preston rolled his eyes as he approached the bathroom. Preston wasn't into the whole famous thing. It felt weird to him. He never thought that people would think of him as a hero. All he did was save a girl. He didn't think that what he did was so special. But it was special. He saved someone's life. Someone that was scared and hopeless. Preston turned on the shower, took off his clothes, and stepped in the shower. He looked down as the the warm water hit the back of his neck. Ash and soot leak down his body and down the drain. He thought about his day how it went, and how it could have went if anything went differently. Preston often lived in the past. Preston stepped out of the shower and got dressed. He wore a plain white tee shirt and long sweat pants. It was very cold in Preston's house so he wore his Blue H jacket. Preston would always look at the H on the jacket. He thought it stood for something but he couldn't figure it out. The jacket smelt like ash and burn, but he could ware another one because that was his only one. Preston looked at the time, 7:35. The sun was just setting. It has been 2 hours since the attack.

You have a voice mail.

The phone lit up and spoke in a female electronic voice. Preston walked over to the Phone and picked it up.

Attention all students of Lakewood high school, our school has been destroyed. Students will have to carry on with school online for the next 3 months as we rebuild the school. Take a moment of silence for the people that have fallen in this dreadful attack.

A tear rolled down preston's eye. It made him think about the people he saw dead on the floor of the school.

Thank you for your time.

Preston hung up the phone and wiped the tears of his face.
