Preston looked to his right to see the teachers cabinet. The door was all destroyed from when his body crashed into it. He quickly opened it up to see two things that would lead to there survival. First he saw a fire blanket. The first thing Preston thought when he found it was to give it to Ruby."Here take this" Preston said in a deep raspy voice. "what do I do with this?" Ruby said. "Wrap it around your mouth to keep the smoke out." Preston exclaimed. A silence grew between them. "If anyone's going to make it out alive it's gonna be you" said Preston. Ruby wrapped the fire blanket around her mouth. "So what's your plan" said Ruby in a panicked voice. "See that vent just above the cabinet, I'm gonna boost you up on top of the cabinet so you can access the vents so we can crawl our way out." Said Preston. "I'm going to need you to get in my shoulders" Preston said. Ruby got on top of Prestons shoulders and crawled on top of the cabinet. "Ok, now pull me up on top of the cabinet." Ruby grabbed prestons hands and pulled him on top of the cabinet. Preston pulled of the vent cover and hopped inside."follow me" Preston said in an echoed voice. Preston made his way through the vents as Ruby followed. Preston saw light down one of the vent halls."this way" Preston said. Preston saw another vent cover. He looked down to see another classroom. But this classroom took a bigger hit. "Oh my god" Preston said. Ruby immediately shouted "What, What happened." "Look at this classroom" Preston said. Ruby scooted up to the vent cover. The classroom was totally destroyed. Chairs were in half, the carpet was on fire, and there were 3 dead bodies across the floor. Ruby immediately started crying. "We have to keep moving" Preston said. "I see light" Ruby said in a muffled voice from the fire blanket still over her mouth. The vent was very narrow and Preston was in front of Ruby but Ruby could see a peek of what was in front of Preston. They traveled towards the light to see the outside of the school. Preston immediately broke open the vent cover and hopped outside. The drop was pretty steep. Ruby refused to jump out. "I'm to scared to jump."said Ruby. "Don't worry, I'll catch you." Ruby jumps out of the vents and lands in Prestons arms. Ruby let out a gasp. With Ruby in prestons arms they stared at each other in a moment of silence. Preston let her down. Ruby saw a whole fire fighter and police trucks in the distance. "We're saved" she said as she took off the fire blanket from her mouth. She then ran to the fire fighter and police trucks. "Ruby?" A voice said in the distance. "DAD" Ruby said. She ran to her dad and hugged him tightly. Preston stood off in the distance watching her and her dad reconjoin." Oh my god are you ok what happened to you." Ruby's dad weeped as he placed his hands on her face."that boy saved my life" Ruby said pointing at Preston.
