For your information...
Mrs. Johnson, Mia, and Mrs. Smith are just random people! I chose those names because they were the most common.

~~~
     "Class, we have a new student! He transfered from Canada, and he should be here soon." As Mrs. Johnson, the teacher, finished her speech, the door slowly opened. Everyone turned to the door to stare at whoever enters the room.
     The problem was, no one was there.
     "Hello?" Mrs. Johnson asked. "No one is there, so who opened the door? Mia, go shut the door please." She told the girl who was closest to the door. Mia nodded and got up to close the door. "That was strange." You sighed. Mia was slowly closing the door. "Mia, stop playing," Mrs. Johnson said sternly. You saw someone pushing against the door, as if wanting to come in.
     "I think someone is out there!" you exclaimed. As usual, no one heard you. "Everyone, please take out your textbook and turn to page--" The door slammed open, surprising many people. Mrs. Johnson jumped.
     "I'm sorry, but I was outside and no one seemed to have noticed me or gesture for me to come in," the boy said in a small voice.
     "Are you Matthew Williams?" Mrs. Johnson asked. He nodded. "Come on in! You can sit in the empty desk right there." She pointed. Matthew nodded and walked to the desk placed next to yours.
     After he emptied all his materials inside his desk, he turned to you and whispered, "What are we doing right now?" You blinked and pointed at yourself.
     "Me?" you questioned. He nodded. You blushed. Another student had noticed you! "Um, you should have a textbook inside your desk. Turn to the page assigned on the board."
     "Thanks, what's your name?" Matthew asked you.
     "(Full Name)." You smiled shyly at him, and he smiled back.
     Then, Mrs. Johnson said, "(Name), Matthew, save your conversations for lunch." The two of you blushed.
     After she turned around, you whispered, "Wanna sit by me at lunch later?"
     "Sure."
~~~

     The two of you sat by yourselves, eating in silence. "Hey, Matthew, why did you transfer here?" Matthew was silent for a while.
    "My half-brother Alfred lives here in America. He asked my father if we could all live together and my dad agreed, so here I am," he finally answered. He sounded upset when mentioning Alfred and his dad. It was a miracle you could hear him, considering he spoke very quietly and the cafeteria was like a concert. Full of screaming people.

     "Oh," you mumbled.
     "At my old school, I wasn't noticed much. I was invisible to everyone, even teachers. At least I'm not ignored by the teachers here. Still, I had hoped it'd be different at an American school. I hoped I'd have more friends and have more people notice me. It seems like I'll always be forgotten, though," Matthew told you, staring at his food.

     You surprised him with a hug. "I noticed you!" you exclaimed. "You know, you remind me of myself. I don't get seen much either by other classmates." You smiled softly at him. "Hey, you want my chips? I'm not that hungry."

     "No thanks, I'm fine." This time, Matthew pulled you in a hug. "Thank you, (Name), thanks. Thank you for being my friend."
     "You consider me as a friend?" you said, gasping.
     Matthew replied, "Yes, but do you? You don't have to be my friend if you don't want." You shook your head rapidly.

     "No, no! I'd love to be your friend!" The bell rang. "Oh! Matthew, what's your next class?"
     "Algebra with Mrs. Smith, what do you have?" You raised an eyebrow.
    "May I see your schedule?" He handed it over.  You quickly glanced over it and patted his back. "Is something the matter?"
